I got this in an e-mail today, and just wanted to share it with everyone. I think this is so cool, and it makes you stop and be amazed at how mother nature works.
A family in Oregon found this fawn on their front steps a few weeks ago and took this photo. The white spots on the steps are apple blossom petals.
As you know, deer hide their fawns and go away for awhile. The fawns have no odor yet, and naturally stay absolutely still.
Isn't this an amazing photograph! A great job of camouflage! The fawn stayed there all morning, (they live in Bend, OR), and the mama came to get it after 4-5 hours. Kudos to the people for leaving the fawn alone, knowing Mom would be back.
Ooooooh! They are really and truly blessed to have such trust given to them.

Makes you want to hold it and snuggle it up next to you. So beautiful! Wish I had a baby blanket to cover it with and keep it all snuggly. Glad it's mama came back. I wouldn't have known what to do. A
Could have been taken down in front of my place. Mother Nature truly is wonderful! How sweet.

Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter. Lullabies, dreams and love ever after. A thousand welcomes when anyone comes... That's the Irish for You!
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing? Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning? ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
And to whoever suggested having Bambi for lunch, don't you know that you want a full-grown buck with lotsa meat on it? Venison is delicious, though.

While adult venison is tasty, the bambies are VERY tender. I have only eaten one, that I saw hit by a car. Very tasty.
You're mean!!!
You should know better than to even think of eating THIS particular young Bambi. After all...he's hardly worth the trouble. I think my in-law's cat is bigger than he is.
