The administration wants the Federal Reserve to be the financial industries super cop.

The Federal Reserve was created on Jekyl Island by bankers and financiers for the well being their own industry. It has accountability to no one! Even the US government has no idea of the amount of faux dollars they have floated.

That is about the only situation we could have that could be worse than no one policing the system which is what we had.

It would create a FALSE sense of security and since the Fed. had a heavy hand in creating this crisis, we should expect nothing better.

I agree. The last thing we nee dis the fed. being the cop for the financial industry. The fed should not have even been created in the first place. The fact that they are accountable to no one is just idiocy.

In hearings they admitted they do not know what happened to 9 trillion dollars and have no idea as to the profit or loss amounts on their 2 trillion bank portfolio. They need a super cop watching them!! I fear our economy is in such bad shape as to be beyond salvaging!!

It has been rumored for some years now that the govt has "new money held in reserve to be issued in a crisis when we have to "start over".

We certainly live in "interesting times."
