We are going to be using the announcement date of 5/19/2008 as the date to start tracking approved video suggestions. Just to make it fair so everyone has a good chance at the prizes.

If we used a prior date than that would give a head start to some people.

We should have a page ready in a few days that will list the current results of the contest and the given prize. Videos can be submitted until 11:59:50 July 4th, 2008 EST Time.

If you win a prize that contains a Founder's account and you are already a founder you have the option of extending your membership by 1 year if you cancel, or you can give your free Founder membership to another member as an act of kindness!

You guys have it listed as Fairytale of New York by The Pogues.

I submitted one of the versions of this song (Fairytale) and I think it may have gotten switched up somehow or something, .....maybe?

The link that this goes to I don't believe, is the right song/video.

I'm not sure on the info for that song. I can re-send the link on the actual one that I had sent earlier if you need it.

How do we submit videos? I have some but the link in the announcement has no place for submitting them. Thanks.

You need to register on the Video Celt page. Then, your menu will add a "Suggest Video" button.

Keep the suggestions coming. Even though they are not showing yet on the contest page, we have 134 videos to approve and they are not counted until approved.

We hope to get caught up this week! But please remember the rules - no live recordings unless they are professional done. We just delete those suggestions unless they are of a very high quality.

Just to restate the rules:

1. No Live Amateur recordings.

2. No Songs by themselves.

3. No Slideshows - unless a tribute and of good quality.

We did post these rules at the start and we have deleted a number of Live Amateur recordings submitted, so please do not submit these as it is very unlikely that we will approve them.

oops! I posted the Orthodox Celts video Star of the County Down under a tartan tero link in the funny section. Anyway we can delete or modify?

Should the video we post come from only the Youtube site or can we use other video sites?

Videos can only come from You Tube at this time, but we have a major update this year which will include other sites too.

Don't worry if you submitted a song, slideshow or amateur live recording. Most are deleted, but if they are really good we will approve them. Sound quality is extremely important as well as the fact that it is a video and not just a song or slideshow.

We have about 90 submission to review and those will count towards the contest once approved.

Please also make sure that your suggestion has the right catagory. Putting videos into the wrong category could result in deletion.

Song Category is not for videos, but for songs or songs with slideshows. Roots is for older videos of the traditional nature, bagpipes for bagpipes, etc.
