Can you recommend a good RenFaire in the New England Area for a first timer?
Of course. The biggest and most elaborate one, that would give any first timer a good glimpse of RenFaire life, is King Richard's Faire, in Carver, MA. It is set up as a village, in wooded area, with many vendors, fascinating food, and some real fun entertainment.

There is also a fair held in Hebron CT: www.ctfaire.com Living in NC, I've attended the fair in Charlotte for the past three years. Someday I might have enough confidence to go costumed and take part in the role playing, but for now I am an active observer of the revelry! I am glad to hear there are so many festivals in other states. Keep a good thing going!
Hi Jesstuss. I always have a good time at KRF, but it's so pricey and tourist-trapey. Still, I can't wait for the warm weather and a chance to go out there again. Is it wrong of me to enjoy both Renn Faires and the SCA?
I also really like the Sterling Renfaire in NY and Hammond Castle, the latter of which because there is a lot of acting for children, and it's set in a really neat castle
And I agree with the tourist trap, Laurion- but I also admit to a nice collection of plastic beer pints from the years I've gone.

My wife and I have gone to the New York Renaissance Faire every year for the last 5 years. We love it. It is better then any of the faires we have attended in Connecticut so far.
They have a web site if anyone needs info.

If anyone has attended any other really great Renaissance Faires in Connecticut and the surrounding states please let me know.

Ive been to King Richards Faire in Carver and it is just beautiful, friendly people, lovely vendors, just good in every way; excpecially the jousting. A few of my friends have worked there and they say it was such a good experience. Im such a geek when it comes to ReinFaires so I would love to go to the ones you guys are suggesting.
