The Clarks left Glasgow in 1905, and settled in Manchester, New Hampshire. Eventually, they purchased a piece of property in a little place called Mount Vernon, on top of a hill.
The first structure built was the barn, where everybody lived during construction of the house. It was painted bright yellow, and named "The Lemon Drop."
Both my grandfather and grandmother were teachers in the area for many years. There is a bird sanctuary named for my grandmother at one if the local schools.
