So, Retro computing is all of the rage lately. People are pulling out their old 80s computers and setting up systems for nostalgia and for retro game play. Youtube videos on such topics as Atari, Commodore, Apple, Adam and more are getting millions of views. Have you heard of LGR? He is a retro computing man that loves to build systems using vintage computers from the 90s and early 2000s. Coming to Celtic Radio and the only Celtic Music station to make this possible will be Celtic Radio on a Commodore 64. Check your attics and basement - don't throw that old computer out because we plan on setting up a BBS (Bulletin Board System) like old school 80s and running a retro BBS that can only be access if you own an 80s computer gem. Here is an example of a 1980s plus/4 connecting to a RetroBBS. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iWgYjSe5VGs?si=dWy0kaxJB_PQloUO" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> We expect to have the BBS running sometime this fall or winter. That will give you enough time to get your system up and running. And no this is not a delayed April fools day joke! For those interested in the technical aspects, the RetroBBS will be run on a linux modern server but you will only be able to connect using an actual retro computer. Get ready - here comes the 80s! |

We will be installing the Retro-BBS on the Celtic Radio Web server in the next few months. Here is the GITHub page if you are interested in the retro technology behind this project: https://github.com/retrocomputacion/retrobbs |
