I am a fan of Dougie MacLean's but I only have one of his albums: The Dougie MacLean Collection from Putumayo. Í would like to purchase more, but I don't which ones are best...

I have heard various songs that I like including Ready for the Storm, It Belongs to Us, All Together, Caledonia, Rite of Passage, and Ploughboy Laddies. Anybody have any suggestions for me?

I think I've got nearly every record he has made. cool.gif Amongst my favourites are (in rough chronological order)

Snaigow - had this since about 1981 or so

On a Wing and a Prayer

Whitewash

Tribute (to Robert Burns, Robert Tannahill and Neil Gow)

Here's Dougie's Dunkeld Music site url http://www.dunkeld.co.uk/main.htm

Ah, Catroina! Bonny lass you are!! LOOOVE my Dougie.

Wizard, get the 'Search' as well. Different, and compelling, whether you believe in the monster or not. His "The Gael" was used for the "Last of the Mohicans" soundtrack, also worth purchasing (for that alone, imho)

Eamon

Don't forget 'Marching Mystery" which has the compelling "Deepest Part of Me"

"We do not have the truth to tell,
Some have flown while others fell
And what seemed to be right
Now darkens our way and clouds in our sight
And we do not have the eyes to see." sad.gif

Well, I'm not so much of a 'lass' anymore, but I like him too.... I've been to see him so many times, I've lost count! As I say, I probably have ALL his published music, too. cool.gif

Unless you have had an operation, a lass you are. And a bonny one at that.

His stuff is a bit tough to get in the states. My brother has an excellent collection, and he sends me CDs that he makes up.

Holysweetmotherofcrap!!! Dougie is in my backyard tomorrow!!! His website says he is at the Sellersville Theater, which is about 8 miles from my house!!! Oh, if he is sold out, that is it for me, I would sell all my worldly possesions on ebay, head to Tibet, and become a monk.
