I just noticed that today I'm a member here for 10 years now. It's been years full of ups and downs - such is life. I have seen many folks come and go, made friends and a few long time friends also - and always enjoyed the great music. Time to say a big thank you to you, Paul for offering us this place to meet and greet, to talk, to share and to enjoy. I appreciate all the countless hours you spend working on Celtic Radio; thank you for that and please keep up the brilliant job. Here's to you and yours and all who love this place!

Me too Gabby, 10 years ago I found this wonderful and friendly place. I raise a pint to you!

Although I'm a relative newbie, I hope to match your tenure one day. I've been looking for this place for many years and I'm very glad to have found it at last!
Wow! Where did the years go? My thanks and appreciation for everyone that has helped us make this site what it is today.
But wait, didn't I tell you all we are just getting warmed up!
I have to say the music is sounding better than ever, many evenings we put on Highlander Radio to some ribs and corn; topped off with a Guinness.
Will keep this site going as long as possible and it is because of the people here that we want to keep it going. Especially this year we were really touched by a long term member from Canada who took Highlander Radio with him to hospice. Got a few emails from him and then they stopped.
We've got a lot of plans and hopefully we can try keep the music going from a very long time.....
[SIZE=7]Has been a long time Gabby (Miss P). I think I was the 530 something person to sign up. Not sure if you can still see that number when you sign up.
Met a lot of good folks here and some of us actually get together occasionally. Raven, Irish Stepper, MaggieMahone, Annabelle, Eamon, Valpal, Dreamer1 etc. but now we call each other by our real names. Irish Stepper came down to NC for 5 days and stayed at the mountain house. We hadn't seen her since our trip to Ireland in 2007.
Unfortunately, we have lost a few of those early folks. We aren't getting any younger.
Gabby, some day we will meet you in the middle and visit Scotland together.

Now look who the cat dragged in!
True, Mike, I sure hope to meet you in person some not so far day ... if not for a trip, maybe you can combine an Ireland or Scotland trip with a visit here. You know, you are both always welcome here and Limburg is a beautiful place to explore ... hey, one can always wish for something, eh?
Yes, we already lost some of the early folks but they will always be remembered fondly. ♥
My does time go fast. I some how ran across this old thread and realized how fortunate we are to have had and still have members that continue to support the site and listen to the music. I have to say I do miss the days when we had a lot of discussions and traffic. I know that many members have passed on now and it was a privilege to play a very small role in their discovery of Celtic Music.
Who will join the 20 year club I wonder!
So tonight we checked on who was the first member to sign up to Celtic Radio. Jan34 was member # 1 registering on September 29, 2001.
Now there might have been another registration system before that which we converted over but amazing to think we have been running this website for almost 20 years. I think the first version of the website was ScottishRadio.net. In fact the waybackmachine has a few snaps of it from 2001. Attached!
