Celtic Radio Refresh, Site Redesign underway

We have started a site refresh for Celtic Radio!

What does this mean? We are going through all parts of the site and cleaning pages up, removing old features and basically going for a more cleaner look. At the same time we are re-writing some of the scripts for better functionality. The biggest change for the site will eventually be the conversion of Celtic Radio to the HTTPS protocol.

Will the site function properly during the refresh? Some parts of the site may act a little strange during the refresh period as we redesign certain sections. We are not going to make announcements of what is being worked on, but if you do run across any issues just drop us a note to let us know and we will look into it.

After the refresh will Celtic Radio run better on a phone? No, the purpose of the refresh is to have Celtic Radio work and run better on a tablet and visually be easier to read for labtops, desktops and tablets - smart phones will just be difficult to use for our main website. After the refresh is done we will work on a brand new micro website at CelticMusicRadio.com that will run on all platforms. We have no plans to shut down our mobile website which is perfect for phone use.

Will there be any changes to our app? No, we continue to plan to support our Celtic Radio network App as part of the Celtic Radio experience.

How long is the refresh period? Our best estimate is 6 months with hopefully the final changes being completed before the end of the year.

What happens after the Celtic Radio refresh is completed? Due to the amount of time required for the refresh, at this time we are not officially accepting new music, news, reviews or CD contests to focus on this work. Once the refresh is completed we will once again provide these services on our site.

How can I support Celtic Radio with their refresh? Sign up for a premium account, we really do need to ramp up our promotion of our premium accounts to keep this site going. You can sign up with the banner at the top.

We hope these changes and updates will provide a better experience for our members and musicians and we are looking forward to the new features we will be offering in the future!

Making great process with our refresh and today marks the day that Celtic Radio is officially a HTTPS site. All requests will be processed using our secure server. We are 50% done with updates to the site so we might be done earlier than planned.

We might have some pages that are mixed content so you may receive an error message in the browser status connection. Final work on the forum should start in a few weeks and will involve fixing any remaining https issues and also getting the BB Code and easy editor to work correctly.
