Check out Coyote Run, a celtic rock band from Williamsburg, VA, at www.coyoterun.com I just saw them live at the Kentucky Scottish Festival and was impressed.
I couldn't find this group on our celtic playlist...

How come there is no Steeleye Span or Fairport Convention in your play list? Those two groups are what got me interested in traditional music from the isles back in the late `60's early `70's. Could you please add some?

Let me recommend a wonderful group that I have had the privilege of seeing twice. That group is Runa (www.runamusic.com). Runa consists of Shannon Lambert-Ryan, Fionán de Barra, Cheryl Prashker, Dave Curley, and Maggie Estes. They would not consider themselves strictly a Trad band, but their "roots" definitely show in their music!
Shannon is the lead singer and she has a fantastic voice. Al the group are accomplished instrumentalists in their own right. Their shows are energetic, fun, and a real joy to attend!
Runa have been winning awards and developing a solid fan base of folks who love Celtic music. If you ever get a chance to hear them, you just can't miss them!
As is typical of many groups the genre, they are readily available at shows to visit with their fans. They never get in a hurry or make you feel like you are imposing on their time. I am going to see about getting some of their projects submitted for airplay here. By the way, Dave Curley has just released a solo project and it promises to be a good one!
Give these folks a listen! You'll be hooked, I'm sure!

The Christian band Rend Collective have out a Christmas CD called "A Jolly Irish Christmas" and a new single called "Come out Fighting". If you are new to hearing about this band the closest pop music reference would be Mumford and Sons. You can check out their website and music videos here: https://rendcollective.com/

Robert, I know this post is old but I really appreciate the recommendation. Hopefully, the band is still putting out music at the time I have read this.
