Watch out Shamalama, you're gonna get your southern credentials revoked if you aren't careful.

I bet every single one of them 'manly' drinks has to be drank out of a glass.

hummpppffff!!!!

That "beer Buster recipe " is the wimpy one!

One frosted beer mug
5 dashes of tabasco sauce
1 shot glass of dry gin
1 bottle of beer
a squeeze of lime

I have been drinking these since the early `70's

The recipe came from Apartment Living Magazine.

Nothin wrong with a glass if it is mug form and frozen LOL!!!!

How about this one:

Ingredients:

12 oz. (bottled or canned) of carbonated amber liquid, with alcohol

Utensils:

Hand or bottle opener
Mouth

Directions:

Use opening utensil (hand or bottle opener) to open beverage container. Using the hand, empty contents of container into mouth. Repeat as necessary or until you are too inebriated to operate a car or heavy machinery biggrin.gif .

That works too, unless you are on the 12 step program...

I like beer too!

Posted by: MDF3530 11-Apr-2005, 03:32 PM
About the only alcoholic beverage I consume, whether at home or at a local establishment, is beer.

I will have an occasional glass of wine, as long as it's a red. My mom prefers whites.

Don't rule out a good dry sherry.......

24 beers in a case 24 hours in a day made that way for a reason? Hay does any one know where to get real Guinness in the states? all I can get is just the stuff from Canada. I drink Beamish cause the Guinness just ain't the same. The real stuff would be worth a drive.

It's all in how it's pulled/poured. You pour it (or the bartender pulls it from the tap), and then let it sit for five minutes.

Regular Guinness is sold here in Tallahasse, Florida in the local Winn Dixie and some liquor and it is made in Dublin. Extra Stout is made in Canada.

I love Guinness. But if those manly men need a female to drink those cocktails with, I'm game! biggrin.gif

Carpentry and Drinking!
Beer comes in the following sizes (for the most part)

12oz
16oz
24oz
kegs

Buildings are laid out to the following dimensions.

There are 12 inches to the foot!
Studs and joists are put on 16 inch centers!
Trusses and rafters are put on 24 inch centers!
Nails come in kegs too (yes, it's a box, but it's still CALLED a keg)!

Coincidence, I don't think so! wink.gif

The only whites I drink are made of lightning and are stored in mason jars.

"Manly drinks"? You've got to be kidding me!

Single malt Islay Scotch; Lagavulin or Ardbeg. Preferably at least 17 years old...room temprature, absolutely no ice! If anything, perhaps just a few drops of real unadulterated spring water. Uisge betha indeed!

Mmmm . . . happen to be partial to Rusty Nails myself, when I drink at all -- but I never met a real Scot who didn't show shock and then disgust at the very idea. My da used to say a Rusty Nail was a lady's drink, and no way to treat a good single malt.

Posted by: bob4328 13-Feb-2006, 09:17 PM
Two to three fingers of single malt or good (better brands) blended Scot's Whisky in a heavy bottomed highball glass poured over one ice cube made from my well water (228' deep) which comes from the glaciers on Mt. Shasta. Fresher spring water you cannot get Emmet. It is simply frozen until the room temperature whisky hits it and then within a minute or so it is gone.

That same water is bottled by Dannon and others and sold throughout the world.

I've found I cannot get the ice cube through the bottle's neck. Plus, if I am sharing my whisky with you I don't trust you to not backwash on me. Har!

Posted by: Dogshirt 14-Feb-2006, 11:52 PM
Wha' is this "ice cube" ye keep takin aboot? nono.gif

Ye have to put ur bottle down, focus and read the posts before you reply Man. An ice cube is a little square piece of frozen water from m'well. I pour scots whisky over one in place of Emmet's "few drops of water". Then I drink it. It's very manly. wine.gif

laugh.gif Aye, that would be the one. Actually found it here in Northern Wisconsin. I found kind of liked it. But than again, I was trained in by Guinness. Speaking of which I have to check to see if the new Guinness commercial is online yet.

Posted by: Dogshirt 07-Aug-2006, 10:15 PM
I like it in the winter, but after a day in the sun framing houses I'll take a pilsner or a Hef.

You got that right! Good ol' "Carolina Block and Tackle", if not that I'll take an Orkney Brewing Co. "Skull Spliter" anytime or any good High-gravity beer!
