Hi,
I'm looking for any relations out there in the Arbroath area of the Addison Hendersons'. Robert Henderson b1819 in Moreham, East lothian, moved to Arbroath and married Agnes Addison (b 28 June 1826 in Carmylie, Angus) on 22 Oct 1847, they had 5 children, 4 of whom had the middle name of ADDISON. Agnes died sometime before 1861 and Robert remarried Marjorie Strachan Dewar b 15 May 1840 in Dundee 15 Jan 1861 at Arbroath.
during the 1851 census Robert and Agnes were living at 4 Millgateloan Arbroath and he was a marine insurance clerk.
The youngest child of Agnes was James Addison Henderson b 8 Nov 1857 at St.Vigeans.
Does anyone know any of their descendants?

Welcome, SonofHenderson!

I'm glad you found this humble little community, and I really hope you find your family. Unfortunately I haven't any information that would do you any good, as I haven't done all that much research on "that" side of the ocean quite yet. Not to say that others cannot potentially help, and here's hoping that they do!

Jump in, and have fun in the meantime...

Hello SonofHenderson,
I was wondering if you have found any of the Hendersons you have been
looking for?
Wish I could help, but I haven't any record of my Henderson people being
in or around Arbroath. They fled Fordel and settled in GlenCoe. Then they
went to Henderson (just south of Fort William). Next I found them back in
GlenCoe where many were indentured and sent to the colonies.
Good luck with your search, if I can help please let me know.
