QUOTE | Bono's words make you really think, think about life and who you are becoming on the journey. |
Roisin-Teagan "on the journey" have you taken time to perhaps listen to some fine words also from any of David Gray's songs?
What think you of such beautiful songs of his as 'This Year's Love' & 'Babylon'?

QUOTE (myriad @ Nov 16 2003, 08:32 PM) | Maggiemahone... great quote. Castlehigh... what a wonderful response.
I am not one for posting my works and really haven't taken classes or anything. However, here is a poem I wrote; I wanted some feedback.
here am I I sit, I seek alone am I as I grow weak and as I scream the moon doth gleam into the dark... one silver beam
here I wait for tis my fate to seek again words of a friend that I might know and though mightst show into the dark... one silver beam
~Louise |
With my compliments, Myriad!
Your poem is wonderful!
The opening lines have some lovely mirror effects:
'here am I ~ I am here' 'alone am I ~ I am alone'
These are powerful statements.
'I sit' 'I seek' 'I grow weak' 'I scream' 'I wait'
Here is the pattern of a journey: ease moving into difficulty and again waiting for ease to return.
The greatest ease on this journey is found in the 'words of a friend'.
Your poem, Myriad is 'one (beautiful) silver beam' gleaming in the dark.
Reflect and give this precious work a name.
May I humbly suggest that you consider changing the word order in the following, 'here I wait' to read 'here wait I'.
This would bring the line more fully into harmony with the opening line, 'here am I' and in turn provide another lovely mirror effect.
Well done, Myriad!
Let there be more ...
Cordially,
Castlehigh of Éire

Aaediwen & Roisin-Teagan can you find some subtle Celtic roots from the following beautiful song by U2?

Stuck In A Moment
I'm not afraid of anything in this world There's nothing you can throw at me that I haven't already heard I'm just trying to find a decent melody A song that I can sing in my own company
I never thought you were a fool But darling - look at you You gotta stand up straight - carry your own weight These tears are going nowhere, baby
You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment and now you can't get out of it Don't say that later will be better Now you're stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it
I will not forsake the colours that you bring The nights you filled with fireworks - they left you with nothing I am still enchanted by the light you brought to me I listen through your ears - through your eyes I can see
And you are such a fool to worry like you do I know it's tough, and you can never get enough Of what you don't really need now - my, oh my
You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it Oh love, look at you now You've got yourself stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it
I was unconscious, half asleep The water is warm till you discover how deep I wasn't jumping - for me it was a fall It's a long way down to nothing at all
You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it Don't say that later will be better Now you're stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it
And if the night runs over, and if the day won't last And if our way should falter along the stony pass And if the night runs over, and if the day won't last And if your way should falter along this stony pass It's just a moment - this time will pass

QUOTE (myriad @ Nov 14 2003, 10:33 AM) | Thank you Castlehigh Here is a bit of non-Native American wisdom
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." --Marcel Proust
I thought of this quote when I was looking at oldravens' photos. |
With my compliments, Maggiemahone1.
After spending some time reflecting on the quote from Marcel Proust the following came to me:
A real voyage of discovery consists in seeking new landscapes IN new eyes.

Thank you, Myriad for your generous words over in, A Sacred Heart of Éire.
"Let us put our minds together and see what kind of life we can make for our children." -Sitting Bull
"Knowledge was inherent in all things. The world was a library..." -Chief Luther Standing Bear (Oglala Sioux)
"My friends, how desperately do we need to be loved and to love." -Chief Dan George
"I (Myriad of a Cherokee ~ Irish culture & heritage) believe knowing your own culture and heritage whatever it may be and sharing and learning about others heritage is very therapeutic." - Myriad
These words of yours, Myriad present a profound insight in the true tradition of the ancient ones be they of the wide rolling plains away to the west of the Great Atlantic or of the little cosy fields away to its east.
Cordially,
Castlehigh of Éire

Aaediwen, these two poems are beautiful!
In Waters of Life I particularly like the following,
"I seek thy wisdom of the ages"
"Lost between the empty pages Through the lace, 'tis this I see"
"To worlds I journey on full sail Off to realms beyond my fears"
"In the dark, I see the light Through the waters of life"
It is a poem full of courage.
In your second work, Borne on the Wings of Angels I like the question,
"Could it be that he is lifted by the wings of angels?"
This is very nice; the reaction of a poet's heart.
"Where thought is free to roam--"
How we love to have thought be free to roam without the within.
Share more of such works, Aaediwen.
Thank you.
Cordially,
Castlehigh of Éire

Angel your two ‘poems’ are really beautiful!

2 Programs & an Imagination
Dreamers Sunset HOME WILD TRIP ATLANTIS HOMECOMMING Ashley's Castle BLUE CRYSTALS ALIEN LANDSCAPE ADVENTURE Jade Island 1 FEA GATHERING HIDDEN DRAGON “HUH” INSIDE YOUR HEART ILLUSION JOURNEY OF HOPE MIDNIGHT MOUNTAIN SAFE HAVEN STEPS OF THE SOUL
Behold, Angel!
The REAL Angel Whitefang

‘2 Programs & an Imagination’ is artistically very exciting, however, ‘Behold, Angel!’ is truly the most beautiful work of living presence presented. It’s a ‘waaay outthere’ here.
Let a new project reflectively consider skilfully and artistically incorporating a series of waxing~full~waning landscapes, seascapes, skyscapes and outer spacescapes on the pristine ‘Behold, Angel’ theme.
It’s a real good feeling to feel like one is ‘waaay outthere’ here.
Looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful work, Angel!
A special thanks to Richard Bercott for encouraging you to present your work. We are truly blessed by those who believe in us just at the right time.

Hi, Barddas!
I like the image of Autumn drawing her colourful quilt close (up about) her. Perhaps in doing so she's being mindful of Spring and Summer's dainty handwork.
And Winter smiles, surely for he knows that love is sowed in a cosy bed.
Very beautiful and inspirational, Barddas!
Thank you.

ON LOOKING UP BY CHANCE AT THE CONSTELLATIONS
You'll wait a long, long time for anything much To happen in heaven beyond the floats of cloud And the Northern Lights that run like tingling nerves. The sun and moon get crossed, but they never touch, Nor strike out fire from each other nor crash out loud. The planets seem to interfere in their curves But nothing ever happens, no harm is done. We may as well go patiently on with our life, And look elsewhere than to stars and moon and sun For the shocks and changes we need to keep us sane. It is true the longest drouth will end in rain, The longest peace in China will end in strife. Still it wouldn't reward the watcher to stay awake In hopes of seeing the calm of heaven break On his particular time and personal sight. That calm seems certainly safe to last to-night.
This poem too, RavenWing by Robert Frost methinks presents some nice insights.
Cordially,
Castlehigh of Éire
Greetings, Dreamer1!
Thank you for sharing this sign-ificant information.
It gave a special feeling to read,
"This is the most significant alignment in the 6,000 year span between 3,000 BC and 3,000 CE. This is one powerful moment in time -- but its effects can last for centuries to come."
A beginning ending in a beginning.
