That persistant buzzing told of the dangers. When it paused, a crimson slap ensured silence.
That's harder than it looks. Perhaps even moreso when trying to follow the "Show, Don't Tell" rule. Don't you hate killing a mosquito on your arm only to then find out by the splattered blood, that she has already bitten you and it's too late for your killing her to do any good?
He came. They waited. Patiently he entered. In the end, only one left.

May those who love us love us And those who don't love us May God turn their hearts, And if He doesn't turn their hearts, May He turn their ankles, So we'll know them by their limping.
Well, all I can do at this point is copy the magnificent words of Baldrick, from the BBC series "Black Adder." Although he used 18 words, it was so brilliant I had to put it down here:
"Once upon a time, there was a lovely little sausage called 'Baldrick', and it lived happily ever after."
Man, that is great stuff!!

I love this! I recently purchased a helpful little book entitled "The Writer's Block" (it is quite literally a 3x3x3 block!) I recommend it to anyone stuck on ideas they can't wrap up or come up with. I've completely remedied my writer's block with it and have finished the first drafts of several short stories (which, yes, I plan to post here!)

]AN EXCERPT FROM A POEM THAT I WROTE ON 10/11/07
WE CAN'T CHANGE WHAT WE HAVE DONE.... BUT ONLY TAKE A LESSON FROM EACH EXPERIENCE AND MAKE THE MOST OF EACH MINUTE THAT WE HAVE LEFT AND TELL OURELVES THAT IT IS OK TO LIVE, LAUGH AND CRY..... PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO GIVE US WHAT WE CAN AND SHOULD EXPERIENCE AND WE NEED TO CHERISH ALL OF THE TIME THAT WE SPEND WITH OURSELVES AND OTHERS MAKING THE MOST OF THE SPECIAL MEMORIES THAT ARE OURS.. AND THE ONES THAT WE HAVE YET TO CREATE WITH THE PEOPLE THAT WE HAVEN'T MET!!!!![/SIZE]
