I love these books. I've read them time and time again. I think the first time I read them, I was seven. They are great books for not only children (which they were specifically written for) but also adults. Books like this are soooo much fun.

I saw previews for the movie coming out and it looks awesome.

I re-read The Magicians Nephew and The Lion Witch & Wardrobe back during the summer, anticipating the movie that comes out this Friday. It had been so long since I'd read them I'd forgotten a lot. I see the movie ads are touting the film as 'an epic' but I bet C. S. would shake his head and say they're just a fairy tale.

I read in a bio that the idea for LWW was born when during the WWII bombings of England's cities, C. S. offered his home as a shelter for children evacuated to the countryside. A little girl asked if she could play in the wardrobe she found in a room, and a few years later he began writing the story! Sweet.

With special effects as good as they are now, finally the book can be made into a really good movie - I've got my hopes up.
