Highland Game season is in full swing, so check out your local listing at the World Root listing of Highland Games and Celtic Festivals at:
CelticRadio.net offers a preview of the next 7 day events on our event calendar on our community page. Not only does it contain member suggested festivals and concerts, but it contains all of Clan Maclachlans game data too. Check it out here:
Throughout May and June we are focusing exclusively on completing the majority of development on our website. We appreciate your patience during this time and look forward to our official completion of our site sometime in July!

Amadan - Sons of Liberty Album:
"Amadán is an Irish-Gaelic colloquialism for fool or idiot, and a Pacific Northwestern colloquialism for the Irish punkrock institution that attacks the senses from all six sides and routinely orchestrates chaos out of throngs of expectant fans.
This band exists for each other and for these people-a crew as integral to the phenomenon as the rogues' gallery of musicianship itself. So climb aboard, batten the hatches, hold onto your pint, and watch this ship of fools rock the boat.
Fists in the air and backs against the wall!
1 pint Eric Tonsfeldt, lead vocals and guitar.
1.5 oz. Andy Gross, didgeridoo, background vocals, sheep sounds.
1 cup Mike Morrow, dhoumbec, congas, background vocals, monkey sounds.
2 tbs Kevin Pardew, smooth and creamy bass.
1 "Sprig" of Naoyuki Ochiai, rippin' fast fiddle and accordian.
heat, add Jeremy Bauer (spoons, penny whistle, mouth, snare drum, banjo) to taste...
Shake, stir, and serve to a rowdy crowd.fists in the air and backs against the wall."
The winner of the 2 Sons of Liberty CDs will be announced on June 1, 2003. To find out more about Amadan, please visit their site at:
New Music & Contests
We have received some fabulous new music for our Highlander Radio broadcast over the past month. New CDs that are now playing include:
Bob Hay & The Jolly Beggers - Toils Obcure -
Leigh Cline - Galatia -
Rise - Posing as Human -
Runrig - In Search of Angels, Proterra, Stamping Ground -
Donald Black & Malcolm Jones - Close to Home -
Along with some great new music on our broadcast, the word is getting out about our monthly CD contest. To date we have received 35 CD's to giveway. We may just need to figure out some new ways to giveaway these CDs over the next few months. If you have any ideas, let us know! At this time we would like to thank the following groups for donating these CDs for the contest: Barley Juice, Rise, Bob Hay & The Jolly Beggars, Kenny Mackenzie & Friends, The Brobdingnagian Bards, Marc Gunn, Wicked Tinkers, Amadan, and Enter the Haggis!
Want to find out the newest music that has been added within the last 60 days to our broadcast, then visit our "New CelticRadio Music" page located here:
As you may know, our entire site and broadcast is listener supported. With the introduction of live365 as our streaming provider, this has introduced paid and advertiser supported listening options. We can not rightfully expect donations to cover the total cost of the site given our new streaming options, so we are slowly turning towards selling options. We currently have 2 Ebay auctions underway of which the proceeds will go to purchase a new hard-drive for our radio server (we are quickly running out of room!). We appreciate your support, always, and hope you will take a peek at these two auctions.
'>The Complete Tartan Book
Thank you for your continued support!
Over the past few months we have released many new features to our website, too many to list in this newsletter. We expect that the majority of our web development will continue for the next 30-45 days. Once completed we will begin focusing on our broadcast and also in providing content to our website. Look for an official announcement of our "Grand Opening" sometime later this summer. You can be sure that we will have a big giveway of CDs and goodies. On a personal note, you can be sure that I will be breaking open a cold one when that day comes! Until next month...........
