The Henry Girls

August 14, 2014 - - Karen, Lorna and Joleen McLaughlin are The Henry Girls, 3 sisters who share more than their familial bond: a great passion for music.

The Henry Girls are talented multi-instrumentalist whose eclectic approach brings diverse and exciting textures to their blend of Irish folk and roots. Their music is often described as a great blend of Americana and Celtic vibes…kind of like a female counterpart of the Everly Brothers, but with an Irish folk footprint!

Their studio album "Louder than words" strikes immediately because of the beautiful vocal harmonies. So balanced and perfectly arranged; this is definitely their secret weapon, alongside the magic and lush textures created by the instruments.

Tracks such as "Home" are a great example of how The Henry Girls manage to create such a massive and really dense sonic landscape with relatively simple arrangements. Less is definitely more, especially when every single element within the mix is so clear, balanced and really on point.

The girls manage to be innovative, yet keeping it really simple and direct. 5 Stars from!
