Nope. You'll find it more likely growing like your cotton than you will gind it growing like either grass or Washington evergreens.

And instead of calling them cotton buds, I call them either Q-tips, or if I want to avoid using a brand name then I'll call them cotton swabs.

And what you specify as cotton wool above, I generally think of as cotton balls

Must be simply linguistic. When I think cotton wool, I think more of something like your middle picture.
