I love this time of year.

The Butterflys are everywhere in my garden..
They are such a lovley guest..

Nights bring the fireflys, and hookbilled moths!

It is Enchanting,

We have only two kinds of butterflies here, the white Cabbage Butterfly, and the big tiger swallowtail. As for fireflies, they are a myth from far away places. But we do have the Sphinx Moth, they can get as big as a Barn Swallow!

I wonder just how far the "Lighting Bugs"
As they are known here..
Followed Lewis and Clark??

With all the lovliness off the PNW..
The must be the only gift of Nature ...lacking.

They are a delight, and with the heat and rain,
They are in rare numbers!

Aye, it is lovely here! But you should know that except fot the coast (Seattle and Portland) that the rest is desert. The area that I call home only gets 4-6 inches of precip a year! It is beautiful, but NOT what people think of when they invision the Northwest.

I have never been East of Portland.
But West..

Still a lot of places I want to see
In that part of the world.

I think she is smile.gif

We just put in a Holly,
In memory of a dear friend,
Who is not longer with us..

If you have a still , sunny spot.
You may want to put in a Butterfly Bush.
They get covered in them..

In Service to the Dream.

Monark butterflies are flying south which means Big Redfish in the surf. Here on Georgia's coast when we see Monarks it means good fishing in the surf. I have seen Monarks 5-10 miles offshore already. B)

About 3 years ago I planted a medium sized butterfly garden. Both my grandchildren and I have had many hours of pleasure watching them, and looking up the different types. It has opened a new world of science for them and a lot of pleasure for me seeing the interest it has generated in them.
Truly butterflys and flowers are God's gift of jewels to the world.
