Don's know him wink.gif

We are playing twice on Saturday and once on Sunday. If we had a Celtic Radio.net banner we could fly it I'm sure.

We still don't know about the Long Island Irish night show yet.

I will post as soon as I do, plus we are working on an area show for Friday night.

Peace

I may have to pitch a tent and do my Woodstock impression in front of the stage. note.gif

Now, if you need help selling cd's and t-shirts, I can do that but I'm not wearing tight shorts and shaving my legs. Ain't happenin'!!

Once again, the people from the Hughestown area have no idea what they missed. This was a fun festival, with good music, food, entertainment and a nice selection of vendors.

The music was supplied by Arminta and The Reese Project, better known to most, as Tom and Laurie Reese. The two groups rotated all day long, for both days. Saturday's festival came to a halt around 5 PM. A thunderstorm and tornado warning was posted for the area. Never saw a tornado but we sure saw the rain. Sunday, was a sunny day with a cool northwest breeze. Couldn't have asked for a better day to go to a festival.

Entertainment was from a jousting troupe, that also consisted of a court jester, the queen, mimes and story tellers. There was also a demonstration put on by a dog trainer for herding ducks and geese. I talked with the owner and she actually has a farm in New Hampshire and uses the dog every day for rounding up all the ducks to be put away at night.

This festival is for the benefit of the Hughestown Fire Department and it's pretty sad that it's own towns people can't even support their own. I saw more cars from out of state, in the parking lot, then Pa. plates. Kate (aka, the queen and organizer) and the fire department and it's festival volunteers, worked hard to put this festival on, with very little to show for it.

Kate informed me, that the festival will be in May next year. She thought there was to much going on in the summertime, in the area and a May festival might work better. It sounded like she wanted Arminta to come back and do the festival again. I guess that will be up to Mikel and Arminta but they looked like they were having to much fun, not to come back.

Arminta, Mikel (Raven), Greg (Peckery), wife Tracy and myself went out to this little Italian restaurant, called Gabriella's. The owner/chef and one of the waitresses recognized Arminta from the festival and were rather happy that we picked there, to have dinner. The prices were very reasonable and the food was excellent. I think, I was the only one who finished everything that was served on our plates. The portions were rather generous. For the five of us, the bill came to $64.

So, Hughestown has at least two good things. A Celtic festival and Gabriella's Italian Restaurant. Hopefully, the town wakes up and supports both.

Hey

We had a ton of fun at this fest and they can for sure count us in again for next year.

Hopefully we can see some good CRN presence at this undiscovered jewel in eastern PA!

I noticed the drummer and bass player purchased jester hats and Lady A broke the bank with her purchases of multiple frocks, woolen hat and a sword. Is it because the guitarist was so worn out from doing silly dances, while playing, that he didn't make any purchases?

I managed to take a few pictures at the Hughestown festival, which featured the band Arminta.

Arminta was taking a break between sets and decided to relax on the stage steps and take in a little sun.

Raven, trying to play louder than Greg. biggrin.gif

Mikel was playing a beautiful guitar, which was getting more attention from the crowd, than Mikel's bad jokes.

I think there was some jousting going on during the show and Arminta was very relaxed watching it while singing.

Most folks on CR know these people as Wyndfall. For the Hughestown festival, they were known as The Reese Project, Tom and Laurie Reese and always entertaining.
