I do not have a picture to post but my son pointed this out yesterday. I talk to my dog like he is a person. He has had gas this afternoon and I have been scolding him. It is as if he is trying to talk to me!

Can't believe I let my 12 year old daughter talk me into this one! Here is the illustrious Mr. Feeny, a Netherland Dwarf who looks like he's had a really bad hair day. Pretty much rules the house. The dog is scared of him and the cats can't figure him out. The parakeet, he just doesn't care!

Why is your dog afraid of the bunny? I admit he looks a little frowzly and strange, but he sure must smell like lunch.

My daughter had a rat named Captain Rat a few years ago, and their cat was deathly afraid of Captain.

Cupie looks georgeous!.
We have a cranky little black bunny that rules the backyard. The cat and dog certainly respect her, as far as she is concerned she owns all the ground and the cat will only be left alone if he naps some where off the ground. She has a fierce little back leg thump thing she does.she will aproach either cat or dog and strongly thump her back legs on the ground, that seems to work a treat !

Tami, Hunter and Maggie are precious. We have a yellow lab also. Her name is Bailey. She is 4 1/2 months old. She is going tomorrow to get spade. This picture was taken about a month ago.

For many years we had a Eng stock yellow lab. She was made in Japan but later immigrated to the U.S. of A. with us. It's been about two years since we had to have her put down due to failing health. She was just shy of 13 years old.

This next Monday, we jump back into adding an addition to our home. She is a fawn coloured boxer right at about 3 months old. More legs than body and a pretty active little (for now) pup. We can't wait to get her. It'll be good to have a dog in the house again...even with the piddle marks and such.

Haggishead,
Congrats on the new addition. I sincerely hope you get a mellow dog.
Bailey is a true demon dog. She is truly testing my patience and I am losing the battle. We have never had a dog like her before and I just don't what to do with her anymore.

My dog was the same and my brother ( a vet ) suggested that I become the Alpha dog as the strong will indicated pack behavior. I spent a lot of time griping his muzzle (not to create pain) and grasping the neck just behind the head while exerting downward pressure. That is how dogs exert dominance in a pack. When the dog lays down and rolls over immediately they are indicating they are submissive and know their position. It takes a while and you have to continue occasionally until they are grown but it works. This does not break their spirit and makes them easier to train in other ways too.

Patch---Thank-you for the advice. I will try this. I know that she is smart, but she also knows how to push my buttons.
ctbard---I am not going to give up on her. She is only 5 1/2 months old. I have to keep reminding myself of that.
