Hello to everyone who might even read this.

Let me just tell you who I am, what I do in life and how I managed to end up here:

So at first, who am I?
I am a girl from Germany, almost 25 years old, so I guess I'd better say woman instead of girl. *g*
I study maths and informatics in Berlin and I'm going to become a teacher, hopefully at some high school in Berlin.
For some reason I got hooked on celtic stuff, which I today believe resulted from me having parents who liked the Dubliners as long as I remember. So when my passion for irish music grew and I started to learn there was more about that music than only Dubliners and even only irish music I rode the wave of new celtic music. My collection of those CDs got bigger and bigger.
Then finally I got a book - one of my aunts gave it to me - and from that time on I had a serious crush for Scotland. It was The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon (which I believe made many people fall in love with Scotland).
So it's not only the music I'm interested in. I also really enjoy learning about the historical way of life about ancient religious groups and whatever I can get. The last thing I'm really hooked on is Gaelic. I'd love to learn it, I'm just fascinated by the sound and the structure of this language. Yet I stongly believe I won't find anyone here in Germany who could teach me. But who know's, maybe one day I'll get the chance.

So well, now I talked about who I am and what I do. Let's think about why I ended up here...
It's been some months my father started listening to internet radio. A few days ago he happened to find a website with a collection of internet radio stations and while he's fine with listening to only irish music I didn't stop searching until I found one not limited to irish music.
Now I'm here and hope that'll last for some time. smile.gif

Last of all: I'm sorry for all mistakes I made writing this text, I'm just not studying English and I'm sure my sister, who does study English, would find a lot of mistakes I didn't even thought I could have made.

Until then, have fun and take care.

-----

The Child of the night.

Welcome Nightchild,

Your English is just fine ... beats my German and I did study some in College. Where in Deutschland are you from? I was stationed there in 1975 just north of Frankfurt. It was a lovely place.

Madadh, I'm living in Berlin. The former western part, but studying at HU, which was in the eastern part of Berlin, back then, when Berlin was devided.

Moon Child, I'll surely check it out. btw: I like your nick. When I was looking for an avatar earlier this day I thought I might have called myself Moonchild, because there were so many lovely pictures of the moon... smile.gif

Wilkommen nach Celticradio.net. Dein Englisch ist viel besser Dann mein Duetsch wird sein.

I can only home to eventually be as good with my German as you are with English, based on that post. Three years in Stuttgart in mid 80s is all a young kid needs to get completely hooked on language for life!

Welcome aboard!
