Just about twenty minutes North from where I live there is a great castle and estate called Chantilly, for the last 300 years it has been the centre of horse breeding in France.
It is the most beautiful place, totally dedicated to horse breeding and racing, the "Prix de Jockey Club" takes place here each year, and I had the opportunity to see some great American horses competing back in July.
I took my grandaughter there one morning whilst they were excercising the horses, and she was totally enthralled.
Chantilly combines a fairy tale castle with a long tradition of horse breeding, complete with an equestrian museum, and is also a destination for Paris school outings.
I will try to find some photos to post
