At the new home I am moving to.
there is a steep, hillside, that runs along the steps..
The good top soil is all washed away, and nothing I tried seemed too happy there.
Mowing this was a pain, and it never looked "right" to me..

I wanted a quick fix, and decided on a rock garden..
The Farm across the way , is doing a lot of excavation..
and the owners were kind enough to let me take all the rock
I needed...

Now here comes the Lazy Girl part..
I laid tbe rock, into a pattern that was pleasing to me..
soaked the earth, tamped and walked on the stones..
Let the stone settle in for a week, killing the grass and weeds under them...
Sprayed the rest of what was in between with Round Up...
waited another week...
Got a yard of screened top soil, back filled and planted...
Took off like crazy !
Chick and Hens, various and sundry sedums,, a few sun tolerent hosta
and some low flox...
As soon as I can figure out how to post pics again,,
I used to be able to ! I need to speakl to Mac smile.gif
I will post a few work in progress pics!
It was easy, to do, went so smoothly. and it looks fantastic !

Now I want to do a more woodland one on a shady hill in the back !
Ill get before and afters of that one...

Anyone else have a rock garden?
I am open for suggestions on plants ..
Thanks !

When you can post a few pictures.I didn't have a rock garden but I think plant like sedum , creeping thyme and this kind of plant should be happy there.Good luck with your work.
