Val: You have a baeutiful place. I wish my grass looked that green.Alas when not much rain you just get brown grass. It is starting to turn green a little bit. I really don't want to see my water bill. I have to keep watering the garden. If I want the peppers, Tomatos and zuchini I will have to pay the price.

The grass by the flowerbed is the greenest grass in the whole yard because the flowerbed gets watered more than anything else. The rest of the yard has brown places in it. Water bill looks like the national debt.

nothing took off very well. I think I have a 2 tomatoes.. Potatoes are great this year...peppers not so hot as they like hot weather..
Hate to say it but fall is in the year..

Uh oh Mike, that doesn't sound good..
I am putting up the garden for the year. Can't believe another season has come and gone..What did really well this year was potatoes.. Big ones.. we got a mushroom plant and put some compost in it and I think that potatoes loved it but the rest didn't.. so bye bye to gardening til spring..

A new season...how are the gardens coming? I'm just starting to fill my flower pots, one by one. I've planted three today with flowers that I bought yesterday and will be going to the nursery again in the morning to buy more. My perennial garden needs a lot of work , so I've decided to do it later. tongue.gif More fun to get "instant" color by buying annuals already blooming or close to it. I figure that if I do the pots on the porch and patio that it will give me incentive to get out to the perennial garden! wink.gif

Happy gardening!!

I planted a large basket of pansies spread out across the front. They are really adorable, little faces with purple and gold.

Then I made a small herb garden. I am really cramped for space and light so I dug up a little of the yeard to make a space for thyme, rosemary, sage and oregano.

I rather wait till I have a nice open space myself to plant a garden. When it comes to gardens and orchards, I like to get somewhat elaborate.

Seeing as how I now live in an apartment, I don't have a garden to see from my window no.gif ...

My parents got their annuals in this past weekend. Knowing them, I think it'll be safe to assume that they planted geraniums and snapdragons again.

Since my last post we have had so many thunderstorms along with hail and just not "Flower planting" weather. Sooo, the rest of the flowers I bought over 2 weeks ago are still waiting to be planted. When I was away last week, I just left the flowers in the house in containers filled part way with water and they are in pretty good shape. Hopefully I will get them planted this weekend. smile.gif Hope everyone else is having better luck.
