::viking   CONGRATULATIONS
Aon_Daonna on ther purchase of Zip's Liz  If she is from the Zip, we see a lot of in the States, you have a great bloodline.  I know timing was wrong, but how could you pass her up. She must feel really small to you, after you have been riding the big shire. What is she about 14 hands?

She's from THE Zip.
I will explaine and show fotos if I find some in the internet:

Liz is, as I told you half arabian, half appaloosa. she is 7 now, very very gentle (and she loves sneaking up on me from behind and then put her nose between my arm and my side. And quite full of live (she loves running). a friend of mine is married to the owner of the saddlery passier and I will get a special saddle for my precious...

you all know this one I suppose?

great grandfather of Liz. grandfather was zips chocolate chip
and then came the appaloosa line into play, with a prince plaudit dam.
This is Prince Plaudit:

the arab side is part shagya part egypt.
The Egypt's halfbrother:

and someone from the shagyan line (I don't know how all these breeds got mixed up!;):
there must be some sisters/aunts of my horses grandmother in that crowd cause she's from this farm:

enough work for today I will post a photo someday

I don't know what this height in hands is, but she has a "stockmass" of: 1,53

She seems very fragile to me, but it's easier to get up on her. =)

She's really cute, polite, strong willed (MY HANDS!!!!!!!!!;) and much better than I am, she received a full training, btw: last reining contest I made 3rd place!! yeappieh!

I don't know any racehorses, because I boycot 'em, they are not really great, just for some idiots to bet on them letting horses run under saddle by the age of 2 is not what I like.
I don't want to insult anybody by it, but that's just the way I feel about it

but Mr Ed is quite cool

::viking Oh MDF3530, how could you have forgot Gene Autry's Champion? I was very fond of #4 down myself.
(d) Thanks for the pictures, Aon_Daonna. I can see, you got to have a fine little lady. Lucky you, knowing someone who can make you a saddle.  I would love to learn saddle making.  I would specialize, in westren sidesaddles.

I agree with you MDF3530, Secretariat was a beautiful race horse and died at a relatively young age. Only 19 and had to be put down because he had laminitis. I like to watch the horse races, I also watch sulky racing. My horse Maggie Mahone used to sulky race and her family raced in The Little Brown Jug.

Everyone have a nice Friday, 13th of December. :D

Speaking of race horses, has anyone ever heard of Gregg McCarron? He is a famous jockey that grew up in Dorchester, MA and who took lessons at St. Moritz at one time years ago. I work with his brother.

Yes, you are right! Chris McCarron, although he does have a brother named Gregg McCarron too that seems to have been into jockeying.

I am really not positive it was St. Moritz, although he seemed to think it was the barn - it was somewhere in the blue hills I know that for sure.

Wow, I just read that Chris McCarron retired this past June with total winnings of 247 million!! NOt bad for a jockey!
