Hope everyone is having a good start to this new year. I for one feel that it can't get any worse...or can it? unsure.gif
Work is slow, although I did get a raise, which surprised the heck out of me!

cheers

Well I have finally moved out of the old house into the new. So now I can concentrate on the new house.

I have been sick since New Years eve with pneumonia. I guess I need to start taking the shots. I feel a lot better, but I get tired easily.

We had a lot of rain here in Georgia in the past 24 hours and can you believe now we have flash flood warnings and watches.

Well that is about all hope the rest of you are doing well.

Happy New Year, all!

Sorry I have been MIA, but life has been very hectic and my back and FM issues do not allow me to be on the pc as much as I used to and want to be. I love this site and miss you all dearly and hope that I can catch up with you all soon.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi!

Much hugs and love!

Hey Gwen!
Congrats on your move! That is terrific. Sorry to hear you've been ill, though.
The rain is messy for sure (makes our pasture turn into sludge city!) but with the drought we've been in so long I'm joyful to see this much rain falling. It's going to make our trees and plants so happy.

Guess I ought to reintroduce myself since I've been so completely AWOL tongue.gif !

Had a great Christmas holiday. Youngest son came home and got engaged to an absolutely wonderful girl! She will definitely improve the gene pool! Son #2 is now a police officer in Haltom City, Texas, and moved into a new house. No kids yet, but we have two "granddogs" which are beautiful Huskies.

This year shapes up to be a busy one as usual. We have three daughters left at home and they are great. They all three keep me busy, which is probably good.

Rose, get well! Hated to miss you at Flag last year. Hope you are well enough to come. Good to see you, too, JP.

Everyone take care and have a great day!!

Ouch! tongue.gif

Isn't it sad that we OSU fans now resort to saying "What a great loss! We didn't get killed!"

Tressell's got to start recruiting faster guys. And thanks for the hello, JP!

To me, a loss is a loss: whether it is by 3 points or 30.
It was amazing how the media here in Cowtown saw it, exactly as you said it: "at least we didn't get killed"
During the third quarter I must have turned the TV off ( in disgust!) then on again about four times!

Two unrelated items:
Do you realize it is just over two months until St. Patricks Day?
And
I am getting close to 1,000 posts - finally after nearly five years here! What shall I do to celebrate??

Hey Padraig,

We saw on the news where Cleveland is really having some tough weather; our daughter-in-law attend the Cleveland Institute of Music there so we keep an eye on the state these days. Hope you're not getting too snow-covered. It's cold down here in Georgia, in the 20's today, but it ain't nuthin compared to what you Northerners are dealing with.

Rose, did you watch American Idol last night? I got a kick out of it being set in Phoenix! Got to see those saguaro cactus again; I'm beginning to collect saguaro stuff now, I picked up a carved stone cactus at a friend's yard sale last fall and this week at an Austell antique store I bought a small cactus & a napping little guy that went with it. Cliche I know, but fun none the less. Anyway, on Idol they had that guy Ryan standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon... I told Reid how strange it was to try to talk standing there, how your voice seems to just vanish instantly. When we visited, I remember being reduced to whispers at first out of sheer shock at the magnificence of the place.

It's funny that you mention this. My wife just called me to say that we are getting slammed with snow at my house. I live about 40 miles from my work, so I have a pretty good commute every day. She said I need to be sure to get home in daylight, cause our road is snow covered!
