I thought there was a thread here for braggin on our children. Guess I was wrong.
anyway..here's mine for logan

he's 6 years old(frggin late birthday,*grumble*), in kindergarten, and reads on his own on a 5th-6th grade level. his comprehension is on about a 9th grade level....higher if he's particularly interested in a subject.

he's currently working in a 3rd grade math workbook and he's almost done with it. then, he'll start the 4th grade one.

not to mention, he has a tremendous grasp on abstract thinking and creative problem solving.

AND....he's a hell of a chess player.

Wow, that is great! I thought my Son was smart. He's a 2nd grader, and is reading, writing, and his math skills are more advance than my 5th grade dauther.

They had talked about advancing his grade, but I would rather he be with is own age. he does lots of things so that he's not bored!

Hope it is OK to brag here also:

My 12 year old daughter, youngest of 6, has made the Super Honor Role for the 2nd time this year, in her 1st year of Middle School ( 96 -100 gpa ) this after being in the A+ club for 5 years in elementry school.

She seems like an airhead, space case, but she is doing very, very well!

Do you think it might be from parental encouragement, and opening doors to new subjects and philosophies!? The child has an insatiable thirst for knowledge that we incourage!

Well, Shadows, it is obvious that she comes from a line of incredibly intelligent people. That can't do any harm either, can it! I think it is wonderful that your daughter has such a love of learning. The schools in my area sucked it out of me early. Congratulations all of you, on having such talented children! It makes the future look that much brighter.

Well I like to bragg to a bit!

Just got report card a few days ago - Full A student again. Like most of his life, considering what he has been through with all the moving we do in the military. 3 moves in his school life and he is only in 4th grade.

He just got finally tested for the gifted program in Math and got accepted.

My husband is so proud of him and of course me too.

Very nice Urian. I hope Coira keeps on shocking us with her smarts, as your son has done for you.

Ange was reading something online the other day about child development and communication. Aparently, at 19 months kids know a handful of words, but mostly say 'No'. Coira has nearly as big a vocab. as her father does. biggrin.gif

A few of her current words:

The givens- Mum, Dad, Buba, Soother, bum, night-night, drink, eat, etc.

The extras- Buff, Oz (dog's names), Kitty, up, down, on, off, colour, pink, house, home, horsie, fishie, bath, baby.

Intrests- Olie, Dora, Max, Ruby, Diego, etc. (pretty much shows) TV, Book, Read, Santa

Surprises- Thank You (and she says it whenever you do something she asks for), Please (she's been saying this since 12 months), Ocean, Angel, Dalton (Her favorite person on earth, her cousin, who she can name quite clearly. It sounds like DAW-teen), Boys (her cousins, brothers of three), Clayton (oldest of the boys), High-chair, bib, spoon, porch, lights,

That's enough bragging about talking. I could name every word, but it would take me all day just to remember all of them. No sentences yet, but she did say the funniest thing. When you asker if she can say Coira, she says 'Me'. smile.gif
