Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer "am I worth dying for?" - Eleanor Roosevelt
The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools. -- Herbert Spencer, English Philosopher (1820-1903)
I still have pics of me taken at the beach when I was in my twenties...
When we pass on, our kids are going to go through all our belongings and find some stuff that we've forgotten we still have.
And THAT'S when the:
- MOM! At the beach? - oh yuk! - Dad's a ho! - he wore a santa hat? - he's standing naked in a bathtub chugging beer - with a crowd cheering him on?
are going to come out.
[Editor's note: I am not admitting that I've ever stood naked in a bathtub chugging beer with a crowd cheering me on and pictures being taken. I'm not denying it either. I envoke my 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination. I also don't know where those damn pictures ever ended up. ]
