How has your gasoline price affected your economy?

Slàinte,

Ripple effect as everything is transported by tractor-trailer. I guess the worst effect is food prices. Our auto industry is really hurting as sales in the States for gas guzzlers and pick-ups decline. Jobes are disappearing in all the manufacturing sectors. There is talk that Ontario will end up a have not Province if this last much longer. Alberta and Saskatchewan are doing great with there oil fields and Tar Sands and Potash.,

It went up here, too. I knew it wouldn't hold very long at $3.79. This morning it was $3.85.

I live in what is known as the "Rust Belt". We didn't need anything to "upset our basket of apples!" I watched a little of the coverage of the Oil Execs testifying about their "excess profits" and the high prices. They said they were putting the money into exploration. With the part time photography business I had/have, if I put a portion of the profits into expanding the business, it is no longer profit. No matter how you cut it, they are stupid. Either they think we will believe the exploration story, or they are not smart enough to know how to file their taxes.

I'm not sure what it is right now. It's been at least 18 hours since I drove by a gas station.

For years, my dad used to tell me to make sure I filled up when I hit the half-way mark. Of course, I never did. But now, I am trying to be better about it since the sticker shock of filling up when it gets down low is enough to send anyone into heart palpitations.

It had has 3.97 here for regular. $4.20 for high test

We need to get our do nothing Congress to get back to their senses and let us drill off the coasts and in Alaska. The technology has come a long way to protect the environment. We need to upgrade and build more refineries. Nuclear power plants, wind generation, and other means of generating power must be developed and put into use.

If not, $7.00 gas will be something we wished the price would drop back to. The fuel costs have already driven up the cost of everything, and is causing food problems and shortages world wide.
