I am a big fan of the books of Charles de Lint and would like to know if there are others out there. If so, please post here and let me know. I have an idea for something I'm interested in trying if there is enough interest. I used to GM a role-playing game loosely based on his books, and would like to start a new one. Is there any interest? Please post and let me know!

Thanks,
Allen

Hi Boggle Boy!

Actually our game did not follow any set rules. It was just something that we played off the top of our heads. We called it paperless role-playing. The GM was the entire set of rules. What he said was law in the context of the game. Basically it would be a story-telling game with each player chipping in the actions of his or her character. Its easier to play than to describe!

Interested?

some of cdl's books are Moonheat, Spiritwalk, Dreams Underfoot, The Ivory and the Horn, Moonlight and Vines, and Tapping the Dream Tree. This is only a SMALL group of his books. And the adventures weren't really based on his stories, we jsut used them for the type of adventure and setting we used. It is urban fantasy. Stories set in modern day, but with elements of fantasy. I'll be talking more about it if there is enough interest to get a game going.

If it is kept loose enough- as in no one gets upset because I can't post too frequently- then you got one feller right here! I just got my old D&D group back together. We are old, fat, married and bald ( well, I am...) now, so we only get together once a month, but it's nice.

That is the author I was thinking of, but, obviously, not the RPG....I think the one I was thinking of was based, loosely and unofficially, on Phillipe Jose Farmer's Riverworld series.

Hi there Boggle Boy!

Apparently we can use the RPG forum here, so I'll meet you there with some info on how to create a character.

Later!

I am currently reading The Onion Girl by Charles de Lint. It's one of his newest novels and it explores the history of one of my favorite characters in the Newford books, Jilly Coppercorn. I highly recommend it!
