Mo charaidean!
I'm so sorry that I haven't been online fer a long, long time, but I'm on my holidays, and it's fairly hard to find a computer with internet here... I hope you don't think that I'm dead or something! I'll be more active this autumn, but the summer will be used for everything but computers...

Tha e a' fas dorch a-nis ..., uill seorsa, cha bhi ann oidhche dubh mar sa gheamhraidh

It is getting dark now ,, well sort of, the nights are not pitchblack as in winter.

Hal a Stoirmeil. Math d' fhaicinn an-seo mu dheireadh.
Hello Stoirmeil, Good to see you here at last.

Agus tha Gidhlig mhath agad cuideachd
and you have good Gaelic too.

Ach direach aon rud. Tha mi a' smaoineachadh gum biodh nas fherr a rdh - 'Ann an Alba'
But just one thing. I think it would be better to say - Ann an Alba - In Scotland

Ach mar a chanadh mi riut, tha do Ghidhlig gle mhth
But like i said to you, your Gaelic is very good

Filte gus an snithlean againn.
Welcome to our thread.

QUOTE
(My sentence structure wasn't right in the above, was it?)

I think it was ok sonee except it's not anns an grradh. It's Anns a' Ghrradh.
Like Stoirmeil you've just got a bit confused on which form of 'The' to use.

Ann an Alba - In Scotland
Ann am Baile - In a Town
Ann am Bta - On a Boat
But
Anns a' Bhaile - In The Town
Anns a' Ghrradh - In The Garden
Anns a' Bhta - On the Boat

These lessons explain it better than i can:-

Taic: Lesson 5
Taic: Lesson 6
Idon't know if these links will work, but it's lesson 5 & 6 of the Taic website anyway.

Tioraidh. biggrin.gif

Feasgar math, a chairdean,

ciamar a tha sibh an-diugh? - How are you today?

Bha mi caran samhnach sna laithean sa chaidh air a' bhord seo - I was a bit quiet at this board in the last days.

Ach bha mi trang ri obair agus ri bordean eile - but I was busy with work and with other board.

Co- dhiu, mar a tha fios agaibh cumaidh mi suil aig an aite seo - but as you know, I keep an eye on this place

agus bidh mi a' sgriobhadh uaireigin - and I write sometimes.

Ach chunnaic mi gun do rinn Cu uabhasah math mar tidsear -

but I saw that Cu did really well as tidsear cool.gif

Agus a-nis tha mi cho sgith ris a ' chu - and now I am as tired as a dog (wow grrrr.. wink.gif )

Tha i tioram an seo air an eilean - It is dry here on the Island.

Bidh mi air ais - I will be back tongue.gif

Tioraidh an-drasda!

Tapadh leat, a' Ch Dubh. Tha thu gl coibhneil, smile.gif
Thanks, C Dubh. You're very kind,

agus tha thu tidsear gl mhath.
and you're a good teacher.

Seadh. . . Tha feadhainn eile grmairean anns a' chnn se agam
yeah. . . there are some other grammars in this noggin of mine

agus tha iad a' feuchainn ri Gaidhlig. sad.gif
and they compete with gaelic.

Ach tha Gaidhlig laoch gl lidir, agus tha i a' buannachd.
But gaelic is a strong fighter, and it's winning.

Tha mi cha a buannachd a sabaid!!
I am not winning the fight!!

Bheil mi eanchainn dol sguir ag obair, mi smaoin!! (Ach cha minig!)
My brain is going to stop working, I think!! (But not often!)

It's good to see you again Faileas!! I've missed seeing your input along with C's!!

Allen, I think about you all the time and hope and pray that things are working themselves out for you and your family.

I would say all that in Gidhlig but I can't remember how as it is 1:30 in the morning here!! Think I need to find a way to get ahold of one of those dictionaries Allen likes! Might just come in handy!

Oidhche mhath a h-uile duine!!
