Well, it may not seem like it right now, but spring really is not too far away. It's actually a good time to start getting your indoor seedling nursery all ready to start planting.

Has anyone placed their mail-order seed orders yet?

Has anyone already strated to plant any seeds?

Did you know that for peas, the best time to plant (at least in zone 6) is on St. Patricks Day? That's right. And that's not too far up the road.

Last year I didn't plant a garden, because of my move to Florida, and my lack of knowledge regarding tropical conditions and planting...it wasn't worth the effort for me. This May, we're moving to NC, and I'm hoping we find an apartment where I can at least have a small patio garden, even if it's in containers. Hopefully, I'll still have time to get plants in early enough to enjoy them and not have to worry about planting too late in the season. I just can't wait to get back into gardening.

Brian such hope! LOL laugh.gif

I haven't ordered anything yet. Last frost date here is May 15th. The catalogs are pouring in though giving me spring fever something terrible. We usually have corn, aniheim and a few hot hot peppers, green peppers, peas, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, cantalope, watermelon. We have a lot of flowers that we plant every year.
Good luck in all that you grow! thumbs_up.gif

Its good to hear from you Arianrhod. I remember the first one I ever saw. It was amazing. I am so ready for Spring. It was 60 degrees today just teasing us. It will drop below zero again. Oh well, it is the end of January.

Happy Planting smile.gif

Thank you for the sites. Do you mean you just can't find your pictures on your computer or do you mean you can't upload them to CR anymore? I had such a hard time trying to figure out how to down size my pictures to fit. Anyhow I finally got it but I have a feeling I will forget it before I do it again.
Noble is such a great word to pick for these plants...

Thanx again smile.gif

Got the outline of my new flower bed staked out last weekend. Was going to start taking out the grass and weeds this weekend, but the weather didn't cooperate. The weatherman said it is supposed to be in the 50's and 60's all this next week. FIGURES!!!! Maybe next weekend. The bed runs 41' along the east fence and 32' along the south fence. It is 6' wide with curving borders that come to a point in the corner where there will be flagstone with a 25" high celtic cross with a "Black Knight Butterfly bush behind it. The bed will include Maltese Cross, Lady's Mantle, Lavender, Cardinal Flower, Liriope, Hostas, and Peaony"s ( which I am moving from the north side of the house, where whoever lived here before put them) and Chameleon Flower for the border. Can't wait. smile.gif

The weather in Tennessee can't decide if it wants to be cold or warm. However, the bulbs I planted in the fall are coming up already. Can't wait to see how they all turn out.

The cleaning has slowed way down. Doing a little along. Have spring fever really bad. The weather has ranged between 60 and 70 for the last 2 weeks. This week is supposed to be the same. Have had the top down on the car for a few days. thumbup.gif

I will post pics when I have it done. Major project. Yes, I planted on paper first. I have it thumbtacked to a piece of cardboard, with pictures of the plants, leaning against the wall on the bar in the kitchen. This way I look at it everyday. I am in the process of removing the grass and weeds. Then we can till it. The plants I ordered haven't been sent yet. Still a little early. CAN'T WAIT!!!! We are also setting posts to put an pagola type top over our patio.

I know what you mean Val. I have run out of gas myself. We just need to get more gas somewhere.

Mike have you always had allergies? My sister got them when she was in her 30's.
