A few years back, Saban, the man who created the Power Rangers, came out with a short-lived Celtic kids show called The Mystic Knights of Tir nan Og. Even though it didn't last long, I fell in love with this show. I was VERY impressed with it, especially when I realized just who had created it! I hated the Power Rangers and couldn't believe this came from Saban! Anyway, does anybody else remember it? Did you like it?

Hey Wizard,

Yes I remember it very well. My son actually had all the toys from those guys and he loved the show very much.

I still have at least one show somewhere on video. I wish they would bring this show out on DVD. I would love to watch it again.

Take care!

No Wizard I guess not.

I looked on the internet to find the books or the video. I could find the books used very cheap and I think about buying them.

the video the sell on ebay for good prices.

So I will check that out for sure.

What was it like? If it's made by the same guy as the show that i loath (power rangers) I'm thinking it's something like that!? Is there a clip of it available to download somewhere maybe?

Hey there lil bro!

Yeah I was amazed too! I LOATHE Power Rangers, but this was actually half way decent! I was disappointed when they took it off! It was a kids' show, so of course the acting wasn't exactly top notch, but the plots were pretty intellignet and good! The show was filmed in Ireland and the scenery was lovely! I'll look aroudnadn see if I can finds a site with some info on the show for ya...

Hi again!

Here's some info I found at a site called tvacres.com:

THE MYSTIC KNIGHTS OF TIR NA NOG/FOX/1998-99
**(Peadar Lamb) King Vin Varra, the ruler of the underground kingdom of Tir na Nog. His subjects included a feisty red-winged fairy named Aideen (Kelly Campbell). When the peaceful kingdom of King Conchobar (Stephen Brennan) was attacked by the evil Queen Maeve (Charlotte Bradley) from the land of Tamra, King Vin Varra invoked all his powers to aid a group of Celtic teens in finding the legendary Mystic Armor capable of defending the emerald Isle from invaders. Successful in their quest, the teens donned the magical armor and became super heroes of ancient Ireland. The Mystic Knights included Vincent Walsh as Angus, the Mystic Knight of Earth, (with the terra sling), a thief by trade with the gift of blarney; Ivar the Mystic Knight of Water (with a barbed trident); Lisa Dwan as Deirdre, the Princess of Kells and Mystic Knight of Air (with a whirlwind crossbow); Lochlann O'Mearain as Rohan, a druid's apprentice foretold in the legend as the Mystic Knight of Fire with the Sword of Kells; and Ben Palmer as Garrett, the eventual fifth Mystic Knight. Each Mystic Knight wore a Dragon Breath Dagger and belt used to summon their dragons. The series MYSTIC KNIGHTS OF TIR NA NOG was the first American television series to be filmed entirely in Ireland. TRIVIA NOTE: In Celtic mythology, Tir na n-Og (pronounced "teer na no'gue" meaning the "land of youth") is the idyllic paradise where the dead live. The kingdom (either an island or undersea kingdom) is ruled by King Tethra of the Fomorians, a race of giants or the sea god Manannan mac Lir of the Tuatha D Danann. Tir na n-Og is also known as Mag Mell ("plain of joy").

That's an indepth, and fantasy/battle feel to be a kids show! How would they act that!? It sounds really really interesting though, I wish I could have gotten to see it!

Hey little bro,

the show started with the teenager finding their armor.

Each one calls up the armor by raising their respective weapon:

Rohan by saying: Fire within me
Angus by saying: Earth beneath me
Deidre by saying: Air above me
Ivar by saying: Water around me.

I will check for the one episode I got and tell you more.

I discovered tonight that I was misspelling the shows name! Althjough I've always seen Tir nan Og spelled like that, the show's title spelled it Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog! That'sa why I was having such a hard time finding info on it!

Anyway, hope you like the links!
