dragonboy, it has worked out well...by the time. Changes never take place over night. It was a long process but today I'm much more balanced, self-confident and happy. smile.gif

1. Eat more healthy and lose weight.
2. Read more
3. Not have a repeat of last year! That was an awful year for me and my family!
4. Should go back to creating, but not sure where I fit into that category anymore. I guess I need to reclaim myself too!

Didn't make any Resolutions since I can't keep up with them!

I just hope that my husband will be home by the end of this year and that he will come back in one piece.

I of course am going to lose weight. I have made excuse after excuse. That is not going to happen anymore! I have absolutely no junk food in my house. I'm on day three and I am feeling pretty good. I can't eat a lot of stuff like sugar but I definitely dream about it! This morning I woke up thinking I had broken my diet by eating some chocolate. It took me a minute to realize that is was a dream! Lol!

Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it;
And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile,
And with dew from his eye often wet it.
It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the
Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.

Ok, I have decided to forget those "Lay off carbs" resolutions for myself. Insted, I am going for something like this:

1. Help someone in need
2. Make a new friend
3. Get closer in touch with my family
4. Go for more walks in the woods
5. Repeat

I really hope I can stick to this. After hearing stories of 14 year old boys that have started websites to help relief efforts, it just makes me think I can do more! For myself, and for others!

dragonboy, what wonderful goals! Wish mine were that good.

I forgot to add to my standard lose more weight (I hate the effects of being old), stay healthy for a change that I want to persue my new-found art ability.

it wasn't a year I want to remember, that's for sure.

Just want to love my family and be together.

My main resolution is to take better care of myself. Meaning I want to lose some weight, keep up with my hair getting done, go tanning, get my nails done, etc. etc. I also want to keep better in touch with the family I haven't talked to in years. I also want to do my studies more often and even look into going back to school.

JaneyMae, you will do well to give up floor-diving! That way you won't spend half of THIS year broken. tongue.gif

...4. Should go back to creating, but not sure where I fit into that category anymore. I guess I need to reclaim myself too!

Reclaim oneself... that's a fascinating concept...

There's a Switchfoot song, it stopped me in my tracks the other day with the line:

"This is your life, are you who you want to be?... This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be / when the world was younger, and you had everything to lose..."

Am I who I wanted to be? In some ways yes, but in some ways I'm becoming the thing I fear most: too jaded to step forward...

Is my life everything that I dreamed it would be? Its actually more, because I had no idea how children would affect my existence... they're enriched it, complicated it more than I knew they would. But they've also brought a richness and sense of purpose & fulfilment that is delightful. With a daughter in high school (and about to start her first job Wednesday) and a son due to be married in May, they occupy my thoughts a lot right now...

SB

--------------------
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."

Why is it that I take more delight and pleasure in my children's accomplishments and lives than I ever did my own?

I think my New Year's resolution will be to try and learn to be happy single (since I think I will be this way forever!!) and really, fully appreciate everything and everyone I have in my life.

I agree! I want my resolution to try to be happy single until the right man comes along- NO more settling for less than I deserve. Other than that, I want to be more diligent in my studies, work harder towards my black belt, and learn to live in the moment- maybe slow down a wee bit wink.gif

Just wondering how everyone is doing so far with their resolutions...

I'm doing pretty good. I'm eating smaller portions, riding the exercise bike 15-20 minutes a day, drinking a lot of water and juices and not eating so much junk between meals.

So far I am doing pretty good with mine too. I have lost 10 lbs, paid off some bills and reading more! I just need to get back to exercising though.
