Your work is beautiful, Desertrose!

In particular, I like the portrait of the elderly lady.
May I enquire as to her tribe?

Cordially,

Hello everyone! Many thanks on your nice comments on my artwork. I apologize profusely for my images being so large. I am not that computer literate and had no idea they would be that big, nor any idea how to reduce them. unsure.gif

Aaediwen -- wish I knew what you were talking about! sad.gif

Angel -- thank you so much for reducing my pics. If they need to be reduced anymore, please feel free to do so. wink.gif smile.gif Thanks also for allowing me to show my work. I hope to see more of your beautiful work as well as many other folks.

Castlehigh -- to answer your question about the older lady. I am impressed that you knew it was a woman. Most people think she is a man! But she is not very attractive,eh? biggrin.gif She was the wife of Jack Red Cloud, who was the brother of Chief Red Cloud. They were of the Cheyenne tribe. All my work is of real people. Mostly from my photographs (I still own an old Canon SLR) or from the history books, as was this lady.

Many thanks again everyone! smile.gif

OMG...Those are absolutely gorgeous desertrose!!!!!....my penciling is a mere inkling to what you do. Your detail work is absolutely phenomenal...I wish i had enough patience and less carpal tunnel to get down to details like that. So I suppose that I will stick to my comic genre.

I have worked in paints, and chalks before, but none of them grabbed me like pencil did. Working as tech support for a digital camera company kinda shot my urge to do photography

I drew this pic, and used photoshop to color it in. It turned out ok.

Myriad -- thank you! No! Not a drop of Native American blood! My roots have been traced all the way to Italy, Scottish and English!! cool.gif Where I got this profound interest in the Native American culture, I have no idea, but it has always fascinated me and I have a special love for the people!

Aaediwan -- love the poem and the photo! Really beautiful!

desertrose... Did you have subjects? Either way... your works are beautiful. I am Cherokee and Irish and am so pleased to see such beautiful works of Native Americans.

Hi Myriad -- thank you again. All my work is taken from real subjects. Real people who I have photographed through the years. I have attended Native American festivals and was even invited to travel with them for 3-1/2 years to sell my artwork and continue to photograph the Indian people that I met. A few of my works are taken from the history books, but most are people that I met and photographed.

so you are Irish and Cherokee? I used to live in Georgia and met a lot of lovely Cherokee people.

Very very nice drawings DesertRose. You have a lot of talent to be able to create such breathe taking images. And you choose your subjects well. Thank you for sharing!
