I just bought two books by her, and am well entrenched in "Finn Mac Cool". Beautifully written! Unfortunately the didn't have "The Lion of Ireland", so instead I got "Grania" which looks very good. Has anyone else read any of her books?

I loved "Lion of Ireland". I also read it's sequel, "Pride of Lions", which, to me, was a disappointment. "The Driuds" was also very good.

Red Branch is my favorite. It is the story of Cuchulain. biggrin.gif

Finn is the only one that I have read so far. Haven't had much time to read lately with just having moved, looking for a job, and getting the kids ready for school. I miss being able to sit down with a good bood and while away the evening.

If you like fantasy as well as Morgan Llwyelyn, then I would reccommend "Etruscans", which she wrote in collaboration with Michael Scott. It takes place in Italy during the reign of Rome's last King, Lucius Tarquinius Superbus. To give you an idea about the strangeness of the tale, I'll tell you that the actual story begins with a "man" running out of the Otherworld into the Earthworld being chased by a lot of white owls controled by a sinister (and angry) Egyptian goddess.

Hmmm... sounds like I need to check Ms. Llwyelyn out...

--------------------
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

I have only read "Lion of Ireland", and only a bit, at that. But it was very good - I just didn't have time to read it all what with reading so many books at once.

I read everything she's ever written back in college and grad school. I highly recommend her books. Some are a bit slow, but mostly they are well-researched and imagined! thumbs_up.gif
