My husband and I have been to parts of Scotland and Wales. In fact, the last time we were in Scotland I was 3 months pregnant with our eldest! We loved every minute there--took the train from London up to Edinburgh, then went on from there to Perth, rented a car and drove up to Inverness (beautiful!), and from there we took several (!) trains down to Wales-Portmadog (sp?) to visit Portmeiron and the Village from The Prisoner series (hubby's very fond of that series). Anyway, there is so much more of Scotland & Wales that we want to see!! Someday I'd also like to visit Ireland. We have a running list of places we want to see in our lives, and those three are right at the top!

I'm originally from the west coast of Scotland and have been here in the States for just over 5 years. Aragorn, you are going to need a good pair of arms to swim to Ireland. You may also need more than a cup of tea if you made it there. You might wanna take the sealink ferry and have a tea or a Guinness on the way!! biggrin.gif

Mmm, I must confess to dreaming of dear England a great deal of the time! I've been there twice, but there is so much more to see... the north, the south west...

Ireland too, there's the north I haven't explored yet...

But I've never been toScotland and that's where my husband's family traces its roots back to. He says that when he retires, we'll go there for a couple of weeks and explore. I hope we actually get to do that!

The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."

Annabelle,

I think we should have a girls trip to Scotland. We could backpack around the country to see the sites.

There has to be several girls here that would like to go. One big slumber party.

Having done a 2 week tour with m'wife last year through the Ilse's. I now know what I do and do not want to see when we go back.
In Scotland I want to get north. Very north. The Orkney Islands just fascinate me to end. Not to mention the archeology dig sites and megaliths that are strewn through out the islands.
I would like to spend more time in Edinburgh as well. Such a great city.( Far better than London, and cleaner!!!!) Beautiful old buildings, not to mention very eerie cemetaries. ( I still need to develop those photos!!!! LOL!) I could spend a lot of time near the boarders/Central belt. Just beautiful. Mountains, and stone walls, mixed with fields of canolla( rapeseed) ...Just beautiful.....

In Ireland, I want to visit the western coast. The rocky shores, and old homes...great photo oppertunities.

The country side in Wales in just beautiful. I could sit there all day and be content.

I have never been to the Isle of Man. It has always been on 'My list' of places to go. More so now with the forum here on CR.net, and the beautiful photies.

As you I am sure you can tell the trip was amazing! And I am itching to get back.

Cheers all!

While I would love to say all of them. The one I would truly love to see would have to be Ireland. With my Flyrod of course. wink.gif

I would also love to take my guitar and play with some folk with some old folk songs.

I have already play the Scottish Reel with my Banjo accompanied with 2 Bagpipes. That was fun. biggrin.gif
