Might I suggest looking for a Caledonian Society or something of the like in your area. ( or nearest large city) That way you can speak to someone with experience face to face. And possibly get involvedwith the local group/society.
Where abouts are you located???? And I will see what i can dig up for you...

Cheers

Here is a link for individual pipers in your general area!
They have telephone numbers, and email addresses attached to them. Maybe you can call one of them and ask some questions, or if they are playing publicly you can go see them perform!

SE wisconsin -Pipers from around the world

I am at work right now, so give me a day or so and I will look through some of the Journals I subscribe to and see what eles I am able to find.

Cheers

i have already conntacted two of them had answer last week from one ... but he was mainly into GHB..... he said he played small pipes (indoor) but he taught stricktly military style for competition... but i didnt notice the the list below the big entries with just phone numbers....... i am looking to play more in the folk celtic type genre......... would love tae get some nothumbrians (they are so capable of all music, but very pricey) a seven keyed will do a fully chromatic octave and ahalf... (just like my wee hurdy gurdy)..... but thanks for any assistance you can give .... it is deeply appreciated and will not go unacted upon......

There are two colleges of Piping...One in Canada and one in the U.K.

I believe capttrk1 is referring to the U.K. one, but the Canadian one may help you too.
