I want to plant a rose bush in my back yard. Now keep in mind, I live in Arizona in the hot desert where there is tripple digits for 6 months out of the year. When is the best time to plant, if I can, and where should I put it........in shade or full sun? How often do I need to water? And what all else care is necessary for this new adventure of mine?

Sorry, CelticRose, but when it comes to roses I just plant them and hope for the best. They are a mystery to me. I planted two climbing rose bushes a couple of years ago and did everything the same. One is gorgeous and the other is dead! sad.gif Hopefully someone here can help us both!! smile.gif

Thanks Bluegrasslady! I think I will go to Home Depot and ask them before I start on such a project. I really love roses and would love to have them, just gotta know what all work I need to do. Hey! my brother-in-law here in the desert has some.............duh! I could be asking him!

I'd call the local lawn and garden store and ask them. Get some expert advice.
