Where was LOTR filmed in New Zealand? I know it was filmed there, but does anyone know where?

May dragons bring you wealth
and guard your treasures
May they banish darkness and enlighten you
May female dragons grant you inner power
May the Dragon Queen
neutralize your enemies
May Dragon Spirits
give you power over Elementals
May weather dragons
bring rain at your request
May Ti'amat effect the changes you command
May Ishtar grant you Dragon Power
May Ishtar grant you Dragon Power

The movie was filmed all over New Zealand. On the Extended Edition DVD set is a navigable map, which allows you to see where the major outdoor sets were constructed. There is quite a bit on the DVD on the construction of various sets, such as Helm's Deep and Edoras. Some sets were indoors of course, even the scenes inside Fangorn.

All of the outdoor sets are gone now, except for part of Hobbiton. The production crew moved plants from where buildings were built and moved the plants back afterward so as to have as little impact to the landscape as possible.

I too am glad they returned it as they found it and with no Orcs or any evil forces. You can find out pretty much everything on www.lordoftherings.net.
