Friend of Teannaich? Good group! We received one of their CDs for airplay.

Your 5 hours ahead of us, so that would mean you are trying to request songs sometime between 4am and 1:30 pm? Is that right?

I am open to turning requests backon from 6:30 to 11:00 at night (EST).

Snoogans, what time are trying to request stuff so I can see what we can do?

Good news, the program guide is almost complete. The most time consuming part was developing the code so that any time zone can see the equivilant time in relation to our home time zone (EST). This means peoples in England will see there own time when a show starts. It will be tied to your membership, so you should update your time zone in your account, but I will also include a drop down time zone menu.

The schedule is a complete web integration with our broadcast software, so if we schedule a top ten countdown, it will automatically appear in the schedule.

Again, another first I believe for a Celtic Internet Radio station. I am not aware of any others that have complete web broadcast schedule integration....ok enough bragging from me...thanks for listening! smile.gif

Better programming days are ahead! thumbs_up.gif

Oooh all day?
9am GMT till 11pm GMT mostly?
Hey cool song on now. Twelve Nations, is that mellow? I find it quite kicking...Immediately followed by Wolfstone and then Enter the Haggis... Has someone been reading my mind?
Good stuff to accidentally tune into at the right time. Nice on. Keep it going.

Not complaining, everything seems to be working great... but I've noticed that songs seem to be reoccuring closer together in the line up... for example, Twelve by Seven Nations was played twice within 4 songs of each other... just courious about the request timing and all since things have changed.

Here's another idea Paul...Would you be able to post on the main page who will be the featured artist played on that day? I'm not sure if that would be a pain in the tail to do everyday, or if it could be automated. I'm not sure if anyone else would like that feature. I just know that if it's an artist I really like, I'd make appointment with myself to tune in to listen at that time. Just a thought... walkman.gif

Keep up the good work cool.gif

Paul, is it your normal programming to play only the Rankin Family around 3:30pm MST on weekdays? Just curious...

Danann, I will check out the broadcast logic. The same song should not be playing within 4 songs of each other.

Irish Stepper, great idea! It always amazes me how much I fail to think up the really good ideas!! I'm going to be keeping a list of these suggestions as I will be finishing up on major programming for the year within 2 weeks. Yes, Paul needs a long break and to focus on other things - like the music!

Alabama Girl, no....we are not playing Ranking Family at 3:30 every week day as part of our schedule. 1 of 2 thing here. 1, something is wrong with our broadcast scripts or 2, someone requests these songs everyday at the same time!

Paul-

The stream seems to be rebuffering alot, even the broadband, which should not be happening...

Are you still having this issue? I have not experienced any buffering today. Anyone else having an issue with buffering?

I noticed it a little bit yesterday evening. It seems not to do it as much in the mornings or early afternoons. Maybe it just happens when there's more people logged in? unsure.gif

Yeah it seems to be bufferin today a lot. Buffering is like when it plays two seconds of a song and then refreshes/reloads again, right? well it's doing that a lot today.

Using the 24k stream, I haven't been able to keep it going more than a few seconds, although recently I haven't been able to go than a minute or so without re-buffering. As a result, I've been listening more and more to RenRadio (another live365 station), because even though in theory it's a 32k stream, I have more success with it than with Highlander Radio's 24k stream. I can listen to a 44k stream from BBC Scotland and a 32k stream from BBC Ulster with no problem, so am having a hard time convincing myself that my connection to the net is the problem.

It appears Live365 is suffering technical problems. Here's a quote from their listening forum.
QUOTE
Is anybody else having problems with the station cutting in and out? I can usually get it to come back on by switching to another one of my preset stations, but it's getting to be a pain . . . .

thanks for any info.

I was a tester for the player and noticed the same thing. From what I understand, they are still working on a few little efficiency issues and features to come out at a later time. Don't get too frustrated with it
