I am so excited! I saw some Forsythias and magnolias blooming yesterday. They were so beautiful. The leaves are just barely starting to show on the trees. Yay!

A few weeks ago I had scattered some seeds in our ' woodsy' area of the yard. ( I keep the leaves on the gound as a natural mulch. So it looks like woodland ground scape) So, I moved aside the decomposing leaves, and scattered various types of seed. Foxglove, St.Johns Wort etc.... I checked on Sunday and they are about 3/8 of an inch tall! They survived the snow from last week!!! Hopefully it will turn out the way we are hoping. tongue.gif

Maybe he should plant an apple tree too biggrin.gif . "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."

A lot of people don't know this, but apples are excellent sources of vitamin C. I drink a lot of fruit juices to help keep me going.

Wow! You must be farther south than me.

Our first sign of spring is this little spindley crocus. It was planted who knows when by who knows who. It came up the first spring we were in this house 15 years ago and it has been the faithful first sign of srping since. How it even survives is a mystery. It is tucked next to a concrete stone step by the patio and has been trampled every year by the sucession of two dogs and four children, and yet it prevails. Coming up right on time every year.

I love those little purple flowers. smile.gif

And - the birds were singing up a storm this morning. smile.gif

Yeah!!! We're finally seeing lots of Spring bloomers! Our forsythias have begun blooming, the violets are opened, we got our first daffodil to open up two days ago, and the grape hyacinths bloomed last week while we were away. It's so good to see all these things again!!
Everyone's so much happier laugh.gif

Aye, Paula! I told ya that storm was coming yer way!
And after all of the rain we had, the garden is going wild! Some of my Lily's are almost knee high already!!! And it has not gotten really warm yet. It is supposed to be almost 80 this coming weekend. I think summer is trying to peek in a wee bit early. wink.gif
