I have so many that I cannot name all, but my faves are Hank Hannigraff from the Bible Answer Man radio station, Lee Strobel, R.C. Sproul, John Ankerberg, Dr. Charles Stanley.

Who are your faves?

C.S. Lewis - Chronicles of Narnia, Great Divorce, Space Trilogy...
J.R.R. Tolkien - The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings
Charles Williams - Descent into Hell
Dorothy Sayers - Lord Peter Whimsey stories, **Mind of the Maker
Francis Schaeffer - Escape from Reason

I don't read enough non-fiction; but Mind of the Maker has got to be one of the best non-fiction books I've read in a long while - and I'm not even done with it yet...

I wrote all of this out yesterday and then the site froze and it didn't post. So, I'll try again.... rolleyes.gif

Philip Yancey
Max Lucado
These two write of a Grace filled Christian living experience

CS Lewis - Mere Christianity

Scott Peck - The Road Less Traveled

John Ottenberg - Everybody's Normal Until You Get to Know Them
He writes in such a humorous style it is fun.

John Eldredge - Journey of Desire
He has a different perspective on things that I found refreshing.

Annie Dillard and Kathleen Norris are two my minister recommended, but I haven't read yet.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen- anything

Mother Mary Angelica- Answers Not Promises and all of her "mini-books"

Pope John Paul II- Apostolic Letters and his pre-papal poetry

Joan Carroll Cruz- The Incorruptibles, Eucharistic Miracles

William A. Jurgens- The Faith Of The Early Fathers

Anthony DeStefano- A Travel Guide To Heaven

very good writers. What I've read of each I liked - they're poets, even when they write prose - by which I mean they see and tell things differently... Read on!

That's exactly why he recommended them to me. biggrin.gif He thought I would connect with them. I began one Kathleen Norris book, The Cloister Walk and I liked it, but life sidetracked me. That happens all too often.

Truthfully, I am a fiction reader. I like books like those of Elizabeth Goudge that present Christian themes in fiction form. Her books are out of print, so I have searched bookstores, antique shops and lately the internet so I could have my own copies. I have to read her books with a pen in hand, there is so much I want to underline.

And I now remember why I stopped reading The Cloister Walk, it was the same thing. I kept wanting to underline portions, but it wasn't my book. rolleyes.gif

I love Max Lucado, especially in the Grip of Grace. If you get a chance, read "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers. It will really challenge you. I also enjoy Frank Peretti, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Francine Rivers
I have to say, though, that my favourite Christian author would probably be Stephan Lawhead. His novels are great!

Christ in every ear that hears me.

How could I forget Mr Lawhead?! I very much enjoyed his Albion trilogy... talk about Celtic! I'd like to read the Pendragon cycle sometime.

Hiya Rose!

My favorite authors would have to be Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins (who co-wrote the Left Behind series) and Tommy Tenney (who wrote the God Chasers and the God Catchers as well as God's Favorite House.) I also like Joyce Meyer and Max Lucado.

Another writer you may not have heard of is L. A. Marzulli who wrote a fiction duology (Nephilim and The Unholy Deception).

Hi all.

I read a lot of Christian fiction. The one who got me started in this area is Jeannette Oke. As she writes about early Alberta history, she had me hooked. My other favorites are Terri Blackstock (she has the suspense down pat), Gilbert Morris (read most of his series) B.J. Hoff and C.S. Lewis.

I've read most others and also get introduced to more through a good news chapter a day.
