If you could do lunch with anyone, living or dead, who would it be. Of course I'm assuming that whoever it was would be living (temporarily if necessary) at the time.

For me, there are a few ppl:

Will Rogers: humorist and all-around great human being
Alex Duthart: father of modern pipe band drumming. Knew the man, but want his opinions on the state of the art today.
Jesus: for obvious reasons
Bill Joy: co-founder of Sun Microsystems. Want his ideas on the future of computing.

Cheers!
Todd

Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.

Tsargent we had a local church that had a simiar saying on their message board for a week as your Will Rogers quote. It was "Even if you are on the right track unless you do some thing life will pass you by." I don't know who said it but it realy confused me alot.

Paul MacArtney is definately one. I'd mostly just like to jam with him. Ringo can join in too. He's just not allowed to sing. tongue.gif

Christ is another.

Alexander, just to see if he really was that Great.

My Grandad. Never had a chance to speak with him, (or the other one for that matter), and I feel I've missed out on something quite important.

Jeff Dueck. He was my best friend for years, but after he moved away we never spoke again. Now I'll never get the chance. He was only 18 when it happened.

Any and Every member of my family.

Alexander Keiths, founder of the beer and mayor of Halifax in the 1820's. If only to share a schooner or two and see his pride for his craft and great city. (pints are for pansies tongue.gif )

We need more Stan Rogers.

oldraven, funny that you should mention Alexander. I read a historical romance about him and that got my curiosity up about the man. I would not want to have been one of his enemies, and not sure of being his friend or not. unsure.gif As far as being great, I would think it was what side of the fence you were on!

I would like to have lunch with an ancestor of mine named Old Ned Sizemore. He was born in the 1700's and supposedly a Cherokee Indian chief. I would question him to see if he was a Native American Indian.
Another ancestor of mine I would like to have lunch with is my 5th ggrandfather. I could then find out who is parents were and were in Ireland they came from. biggrin.gif

Robert Burns... as we both passionately love Auld Scots/Lallans - we'd have a lot to talk about - plus he wrote so beautifully.

William Topaz MacGonnagall.... just to see if it was true that he REALLY believed he was a good poet..... I still think maybe he was fooling most of the people, most of the time!

Winston Churchill.

Mary, Queen of Scots... was she as silly as I think she was?

Top of my list would have to be two artists whose music you'll find here

Loreena McKennitt
Heather Dale

I'd like a conversation with Jesus, for the sake of learning

I'd like to meat my G-grandfather, and perhaps even Richard Creech, who brought the family name over 13 generations ago

Ben Franklin might be good to yap with too =)
