Ok i feel bad cuz i dont have any of those 'great' authors like shakespear or plato on my list but oh well here it is anyway.

Mike Resnik- author of Santiago. between me , my mom and my brothers we have bought the book 4 times and none of them ever got to keep the cover they were read so much.

Steven Brust- the Taltos series

R. A. Salvatore- Dragonlance

Robert Asprin- the Myth series

Mick Foley - His autobiographies ( yes wrestling is one of my vices)

Christopher Stasheff - the Wizard in Ryme series

J. K Rowlings - Harry Potter ( another of my vices angel_not.gif )

Edgar Rice Bouroughs - John Carter of Mars

Theres more that im sure im forgetting but this is a good list of the kind of authors i like. and yes its mostly fantasy type novels. what can i say i long for the magical times.

I like the classics and havae read a lot of them for school and for pleasure although I don't think that I would consider the authors favorites. I'm human like the next person and a teenager too so my favorites tend to run along:
Tamora Pierce (Favorite series is Alanna, although Daine is a close second.)
Patricia C. Wrede (although just the Enchanted Forest stuff)
Nora Roberts
J.D. Robb (same person as above even if she does write a lot of romances)
J.K. Rowlings
Linda Howard
Anita Diamont (The Red Tent)
Nicholas Evans
Pat Conroy
I tend to pick up books not looking at the author and will fall in love with a book and try to find other books by that author. There are probably more but I just can't remember them right now.

My favorite is Dostoevsky... How cool am I? tongue.gif I also like Jane Austen, although that's painful to admit (such girlie stuff!). And nearly anyone who writes one of those cleverly funny novels (Nick Hornby, Mark Haddon) is fine by me.

- J. R. R. Tolkien
- C. S. Lewis
- George MacDonald
- Mark Helprin
- E. R. Burroughs (John Carter Of Mars Series)

Hmmm, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
