Hey, OldRaven, what names does Ange like? Have any of our suggestions met with her approval? I'm sure you guys are finding more yourselves, and I must admit to being curious about the ones you're mulling over. This is a lot of fun! No pressure on us, and we get to experiment.
So what does she think??

Dreamer, At the mention of Coira (COY-rah I assume, correct me if I'm wrong) she stirred from her trance, watching cooking yet again. So far she's asked me "It's Coira, right?" about 30 times. So, I'm pretty sure that one's going to be on the finals. Other than that, she's extremely picky.
You know what drives me? When people act like a certain name is an insult, just because they 'knew someone' by that name who was an ingrate. So? I knew someone by that name who was a wonderful person, and I like it. You know what? I bet as soon as you named your kid that certain name, you'd have better feelings toward it. Bah! *end rant*
I like Mhairi. Always have. But I can't use that one for reasons noted above. yar

QUOTE (oldraven @ Feb 11 2004, 01:35 PM) | Well, we're not out to give our kids weird names anyway. Unique, maybe. At least where we are. That's why I'm glad I got Summer Solstice out of her head. That's just too much. |
Old Raven, I am so glad to hear that you are not planning any wierd names. I knew a girl, when I was in school, whose name was April Showers. There was so many kids made fun of her because of that.

Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri; Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mâd, Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed.
Gwlad, Gwlad, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad. Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau, O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau.
Hen Gymru fynyddig, paradwys y bardd, Pob dyffryn, pob clogwyn i'm golwg sydd hardd; Trwy deimlad gwladgarol, mor swynol yw si Ei nentydd, afonydd i mi.
Os treisiodd y gelyn fy ngwald tan ei droed, Mae hen iaith y Cymry mor fyw ac erioed, Ni luddiwyd yr awen gan erchyll law brad, Na thelyn berseiniol fy ngwlad.

OldRaven, Will Ange accept Mhairi as a middle name? I like the sound of Coira Mhairi, and you'd have both of your favorites, too. At least it can't be shortened to some obnoxious nickname! My hubby was seriously considering the name William Robert if we had a son. Now I like both of those names, please understand, but I knew that the poor kid would be immediately christened "Billy Bob"(!) and never hear William except from me!! UUUGGGHHH! What are some of the names she likes, and how do you feel about them? Remember, too, that you've got a good bit of time to work on this. Maybe she just needs to get used to the names in reference to her own child, instead of someone else. Patience, M'Lord. Dreamer1
