QUOTE (sir_tal @ 12-Oct-2004, 11:50 AM)
I have yet to read the Song of Albion trilogy, though that is something that I REALLY want to read.

You must read this trilogy the first chance you get! I have read most of Stephen Lawhead's books, but these are my favorite by far. Lawhead sure knows how to tell a story!

If man will take His word as guide
And leave all infamy,
Then we shall come to happiness
And blisses more than we can guess in Jesu's company."

I am asking for them for Christmas, and if I don't get them for Christmas, then I will go to Barnes and Noble and buy them. I've been wanting to read these for a long time, but money to spend on books is less than normal of late! Really looking forward to those books, though.

I just finished the Dark Jewels Trilogy (I think) by Anne Bishop. They were fantastic and highly recommend them to anyone interested in a sort of flipped up fantasy world.

The Discworld Series was written by Terry Pratchett.
It's about 28 books and I would call it "humorous fantasy". The discworld is carried by four elephants who are standing on the back of a giant turtle. it's population are wizards. Gods, withes and many more and all of them have a kind of spleen and are...special... wink.gif

As I said, I'm hooked! biggrin.gif

I am nuts for David Eddings, I have read all of the series that he has done, Belgariad, Malloreon, Elenium, Tamuli, and loved them!!!
I also like Piers Anthony, I live in Xanth, lol!!!! Haven't spotted any of the ogres or critters yet, but I keep hoping!!! In the same kind of thing "humorous Fantasy" I also like Robert Asprin, Myth Series, it's very good actually and I enjoy it a lot.
MZB is always a favorite as is Mercedes Lackey, I too love Valdemar.
Pretty much I will pick up anything if I like the look of the cover, that's how I discovered all of the above.
Of course, being me, I who have my head in the clouds, I will also admit that I read romance novels, too, lol.
but on the other end of the scale, I also like authors like Clive Cussler.

Thank you God for giving someone the idea of a library!!!!!

It would have to be, Ed Greenwood and the Shandril Serious for me currently. There such an amazing serious. Make sure to get the extended edition though!

Growing up my best friend and I were obsessed with Xanth. We read almost every book the he wrote about that world. We especially loved the later ones in the series about the third generation with Ivy and Dolph(sp?) and Nada Naga. I loved the entire concept of this alternate world inside of an area that existed in real life(for all nonXanth readers the books are set in Xanth which is Florida).
