Just wanted to say hello. Just joined. I have a real passion for the irish, for I portray a Civil War Irish Volunteer. The group I belong to is the 69th Pennsylvania Irish Volunteers. I really enjoy the music because that is what we do at night around our campfire. This is a great website and I'll be visiting often.
Welcome to the group and maybe you might want to post some info on your hobby as I know tehre's been at least one commet about removing the Civil War era songs from the station though with the feedback I seriously doubt it will be removed but maybe you might be able to inform others how the Celtic/Irish/Scottish music style works in during the Civil War Period.
I'll echo Dave's welcoming to the board. Great to have you and welcome!!
Would love to hear more information about your civil war group. Yes, there is alot of Celtic music tied to the songs from the civil war.
We recently received a request to remove the confederate civil war songs we play. Now there was nothing offensive in the songs themselves, but the writer seemed to be trying to make a connection between playing these songs and slavery.
Going to check to see how the poll is going on this issue, since we are going to let the listeners decide the fate of this request.
Again, glad to have you aboard and feel free to post and post often!
