Heard a blues song that had a good lesson. One day a dog that didn't see too well was crossing the railroad track when he lost a little bit of tail. He turned around, not looking up or down the track. That dog lost his whole head looking for a little piece of tail.

Seeing that this thread is 44 or so pages long, I decided to go back in time to the first page and noticed posts from one of our lady members. I noticed also that she had something like 2,900-something posts to her credit. But her last posts were in 2004. It got me to thinking: when one has that many posts (meaning they spent alot of time here) why did they stop? Did they grow bored with it? Were they insulted? Did they die (I've thought of that one. What if I died suddenly? How will I let you know?)

This is a fun place Why go away?

I have too much time on my hands...

Hey all,

You know what gets me? When the scary "we need to talk" line comes right as you are about to fall asleep. I don't know about the rest of you... but as soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm out like a light.

"We need to talk" is scary anytime. Translated it means "You need to keep your mouth shut and listen". Content could be anything from redecotating to the last thing you "did wrong". One must be ready for anything from the obligatory "Uh huh" to the defense of his life.

"we need to talk" turns on my selective hearing....

i came across this quote...
it at one time traveled in a email with a very fine picture of a woman very fine...
very very very fine..... i mean FINE!!

anyway the caption was

"no matter how good she looks, some guy somewhere is tired of her pooh"

*dang i was censored it didnt say pooh when wrote it...* sad.gif

When I am in bed (for sleeping!) I do not want to get hit with all of the worlds problems. I'll deal with it in the morning.

Which brings me to my standards for emergencies.
Here is how I determine if something is an emergency that needs my immediate attention:
1. Is something on fire?
2. Is someone bleeding profusely and/or unconscious?
If you answer no to either question, then it is not an emergency!

Once my head hits the pillow for sleeping, my brain tends to turn off and even if I wanted to talk about problems I wouldn't be able to do it. Actually, my brain tends to turn off around 10:00 - 10:30 PM every night. biggrin.gif

But... you know how the wife can be... if it is important enough to bring it up at that time of night knowing that your brain just doesn't want to function... then it must be earth shattering enough to talk about right then and there!

Women... sometimes I just don't think I'll ever understand them!

Hey I know I'm not suppoed to be in here, but you all just reminded me to respect the fact that when a man's head hits the pillow, its time to sleep, NOT TALK.

I've got it down when it comes to ballgames on TV, but still have a bad chatter habit at bedtime. rolleyes.gif

By the time a man can read a woman like a book, he's too old to start a library! wink.gif

And WHY is it I can sit and stare at the wall for hours, but pick up the paper or a book and it's "Could you... Would you... Guess who I saw Etc? huh.gif

Not bad... it rained last night, but as of right now it is dry again. We are supposed to see the sun sometime next week. biggrin.gif You know the saying for Washington... "If you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes and it will change!" tongue.gif

Okay guys, I have a question for you: in two weeks is my 25th anniversary. We already have some plans. We are spending the day at the zoo together. My wife is a simple woman (hey! no jokes here....j/k), with simple wants. She is not one for fancy dinners. She does not like to shop. So we are doing the zoo.
Does anyone have any other ideas? I was thinking of also going on a picnic with the zoo trip.
Any thoughts?
